Connecting to a DS-Client
This section describes how to connect to a DS-Client.
To connect to a DS-Client:
1. Start the DS-User application.
2. Select a DS‑Client from the list on the left side of the main window.
If the DS-Client you require is not displayed, you have to add it to the initialization list. Setup > Initialization > Connection. See “Configuring the DS-Client connection settings”.
Right-click the list to switch between computer names and IP addresses.
Color codes for DS-Clients that appear in this list:

DS-Client runs on the local machine on which this DS-User is installed. (Supersedes other colors. Only DS-Client can appear blue.)

3. In the Protocol box, select one of the following protocols:
Encrypted: All the data between the DS-User and the DS-Client will be encrypted with a random encryption key at every connection.
Standard: This option is only offered for backwards compatibility with old service/daemon versions that do not have this feature.
4. Under Credentials, enter your credentials, and then click Connect.
NOTE:  If the DS-Client is unregistered, you must perform the initial configuration. See “Performing the initial DS-Client configuration”.
