About trustee assignments and existing permissions
If you are restoring to an existing directory, DS-Client will append trustee assignments to those of the existing directory. If you intend to clear existing permissions, you must first delete the existing directory and then perform the restore.
To restore Netware Servers
The following highlights the procedural steps that are specific to restoring NetWare Servers.
1. Browse the Backup Sets tree, right-click the required backup set, and click Restore Now.
2. In the Select directories/files to restore screen appears, select the NDS and click Next.
3. In the Select Restore Location screen, select the required location for the restore and click Next.
NOTE: If you are restoring to an existing directory, DS-Client will append trustee assignments to those of the existing directory. If you intend to clear existing permissions, be sure to delete the existing directory before performing this restore.
4. In the Select restore performance options screen, select the required options and click Next.
The Select Restore Options screen appears.
5. In the Restore NDS object(s) from field, specify the object (container or leaf) to restore and click Next. To restore the entire NDS, leave this field blank.
NOTE: The object name you provide should be typeless and fully qualified (distinguished) from the Root.
By default, DS-Client will restore the entire NDS if no object is specified.
6. In the Fill in the restore survey screen, make the required selections and click Next.
7. Click Finish to start the restore process.
After the restore is successfully completed, time required to load the NDS depends on the size of the NDS. An NDS of a larger size can take minutes to load.
