Hola! I am very honored and excited to be the new Assistant Principal at Claremont Immersion School. As a professional who believes in the infinite power of being bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural in the 21st century, it is my mission to inspire and propel each and every student to embark on a life-long journey of learning in two languages. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Universidad Pedagogica Experimental Libertador - Instituto Pedagogico de Caracas, Venezuela, with a B.A. in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and earned my M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Greensboro College, NC. I also attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, to further my post-graduate studies in Educational Leadership. I have taught a wide range of grade levels (K-16) in several places such as Caracas, Venezuela (7 years), North Carolina (10 years), and Claremont (2 years), where I now have the privilege to lead a great staff and to contribute to their excellence with my instructional expertise.

    Carmen Aguilar, Building Manager

Working at Claremont has been one of the best learning experiences I have had. I love coming into work with a big smile on my face. Being an Arlington Public School alumni, I knew I wanted to come back and give back to the system that has shaped me into who I am today. I have a Health and Human Services degree from Virginia Wesleyan College.

I have enjoyed being the School Registrar since Claremont Immersion School opened in 2003. I love being a part of the Claremont family because the students, parents, and staff are amazing and always bring a smile to my face. Claremont has also offered me the wonderful opportunity to practice and learn more Spanish, since I was born in Panama but grew up in the United States. I live in Stafford, VA with my husband and three cats. I enjoy camping and hiking in the Fall and Winter, gardening, and music.
