What to Expect:
Wodathalon is a triathlon inspired race, with a Sharp Edge CrossFit twist. It can be completed as an individual or as a team relay.
This unique event will test your endurance in a way unlike anything you've done before. The race will begin at Sharp Edge CrossFit with a WOD, then go immediately to a 5k run course ending at Lake Michigan for a 1/2 mile (750m) open water swim! For individuals, there is a mandatory 5 min break from the end of the run before the start of the swim, to allow transition through the beach gates.
This ia social/competitive event, where you are primarily competing against yourself and the clock, with the other competitors there to inspire you and push you past your limits. Top 3 times in each division will be recognized, but no prizes are awarded. We are coming together to have fun and enjoy a unique fitness experience.
All level of competitors are welcome.
After the race, we will be hanging out at the beach to party, eat & play games (volleyball, hoover ball, tug-o-war, etc).
Relay!
Teams of 3 can complete the event as a relay race. Each athlete will complete one segment of the race (WOD, Run, Swim). Grab two friends and showcase your speciality! This can be a great way to introduce a friend to the community! Each relay team must have one male and one female competitor with a third of either sex. MMF and FFM teams compete together in the same division. Women on the WOD will use women's weights, but otherwise the event is not modified.
Beach passes!
It costs $8 to buy a beach pass for the day. If you need a beach pass, select that option. If you already have an Evanston beach token, be sure to bring on the day of the event.
