Nope, I saved some dough and built my own for $25 thanks to the free plans I got from Ana’s site! I used the base of the chaise to assemble the back by aligning each board on top of the other to ensure a good match when the back was attached.
It definitely, cost more than 25 $ per chair, just went and spent $40 on wood and hinges alone! I’ve been pining for these chairs for years, and I agree with you, that price tag from PB is too steep! This piece continues our Chesapeake Collection and will be constructed just like the Free DIY Furiture Plan to Build a Chesapeake Single Lounger only this is twice the lovin’ and will fit twice the people on it! Before beginning to build, always check in on my site to make sure you have the most up to date set of plans, I occasionally update and change the plans to make the building process easier or to allow for less expensive purchasing of materials! I was recently pricing lounge chairs for our new pool and i cannot believe how EXPENSIVE they are, I never thought of making one out of wood!

I’ve been coveting those chairs at PB every time I glance at the catalog, but like you, no way was I going to spend that $. Measure the length your rubber stoppers will sit on your rod by placing them on the ends of your rod and marking off at the bottom edge. I’ve been looking for some for our back yard and even the cheap plastic ones are more than $25! I did construct it according to the Potterybarn dimensions so that their cushions and other standard lounge cushions will fit and work well.
If you print out or save plans, be sure to check in on my site to be sure you have the most up to date set of plans, as I occasionally update things for ease of building or buying.
Feel Free to link to any of my plans so long as you provide an adequate link back to the appropriate post!
You don’t need to go crazy for that step, just add 3-4 pocket holes per interior frame board to simply hold the seat in place.

Plans from this page are not to be used for commercial purposes or republished without the express written consent of Rayan Turner, The Design Confidential I hope to provide accurate plans, however, I cannot guarantee each plan for accuracy.
I added wheels for mobility in the back (Harbor Freight Tools), and two old handles we hand lying around for the front, and two heavy plastic plates so that the wood isn’t directly on the bare ground until the grass spreads further. Not every plan that I post has been built and tested, so you are building at your own risk.
The two camp chairs are just old family chairs that I took apart, cleaned, sanded, repainted and replaced old rusty hardware to save money too. Trust me, you will move it more than you think, like every time the angle of the sun changes.
