I am Italian and our summers are short but they are very hot, in England our summers do not feel short though because I think English summers are nice for a very short time and there is not very long that you need to use a fan for. My husband likes to use a fan and he thinks it is getting hot as soon as spring starts but I do not agree and think that in England the weather for fans does not start until July. This fan turns around and it has got 3 power settings for the speed of the fan, it does not turn around very far but the air that is blown can fill the whole room and I think it is effective when it is hot and the room feels stuffy. You can buy this fan from Argos only and it works through the electric, it is portable but while you have got an electric socket near you only. Normally I am quite good at dealing with hot weather but this summer at times it was just that tad bit too hot for me, so I thought I would invest in a relatively cheap fan. During the recent spell of hot weather that hit us unexpectedly I desperately needed to find a fan that not only cooled a room down but helped to keep my son as cool as possible as he has a condition that is made worse in the heat. I'm the kind of person that is always hot rather than cold so during the summer months I really suffer when it's hot. Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store, unless the item is handmade or was packaged by the manufacturer in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag. Import charges previously quoted are subject to change if you increase you maximum bid amount.

Let's face it when it's sunny here, it is never for too long so I didn't exactly want to invest a lot in something that I will only use a few days a year.So I needed something urgently, popped on to the Argos site and saw this had a lot of positive reviews and it was in the value range.
I hate being too hot, it makes me feel sweaty and sticky and even though you've had a shower a few hours later you feel like you need another.
If you reside in an EU member state besides UK, import VAT on this purchase is not recoverable. Next thing I popped down to my local Argos and before you know it I was the owner of a Tower fan. I also have this weird thing of needing to have the windows open or a fan on to breath ice clean fresh air. In England, it is rare to find shops with Air conditioning and even rarer for peoples homes to have Air Conditioning. Firstly it is easier to store away as it is quite compact and not too bulky plus I know I am in the minority but I find Tower Fans to be more attractive. Personally I always use the highest setting as I don't find the first two to have a great enough effect. This is really a waste of a setting, but I guess for this value they can't make the fan that much more powerful.
It's noting fancy looking, I'd prefer silver to match in with my television but it still looks nice considering the price. I didn't have to worry about paper flying off my desk as I used this primarily in my room to cool me down in the evenings before I went to sleep.
It has 3 speed settings and is oscillating so it circulates the air around the room to keep you lovely and cool.

Of course with these things noise is always a factor and there is some noise here however I was pleasantly surprised that it was not too loud. It has quite a long cord so it can be moved quite far from the plug, it's also quite slim so doesn't take up much floor space.
It worked well but was just too big and it was hard trying to find a place where to put it in my flat. I was expecting this to be a nuisance however in actual fact if I wanted to I could have comfortably slept with the fan on and not have been disturbed so I give this very good marks in terms of noise. This does have the possibility to rotate as well which is useful if you have a group of people, but I do not use this feature much at all, as I am the primary user and like this fan just to be focused on the one point, so in essence I can't really comment too much on the rotation feature.
However, that was totally full up and due to the fact I have hardly no storage space in my flat, I try to keep as much as I can in the shed (including 2 bikes!) I'd had enough and simply threw the big fan away. I would say though that on the 3rd setting which is the highest it is a bit noisy but I'm used to it now and I actually find it quite soothing at night.A great fan for the price. I have never owned a fan before so I can't comment on how this compares to others in a similar price range but I personally have found it to be good value for money. Overall I think is a decent fan and whilst it isn't perfect and maybe for some people won't quite be powerful enough they also need to remember this is a value fan. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and if you want something that has serious wind power then you really need to be investing more money in to your fan.
