Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia Today we celebrate the memory of St. Bernard. St. Bernard, of course, is known as a great Marian doctor of the Church. And it's funny when we think, notwithstanding that St. Bernard is a great Marian doctor of the Church, he made two serious errors regarding Our Lady. St. Bernard wasn't in favor of Our Lady's assumption. This was, of course, before the dogma was proclaimed. Neither was he in favor of her Immaculate Conception. And, in fact, he had an influence on the theologians who followed in his wake, St. Thomas and St. Bonaventure. And what does this all prove to us? Is that God doesn't give all of the light to anybody. This is one of the messages that we also receive from venerable Marianists when we pray to Mary of Agreda. When venerable Mary of Agreda asked Our Lord during his apparitions and revelations to her, she asked, Lord, why are there disagreements among theologians? Why are there the two schools of theology, the Franciscan school and the Dominican school? And Our Lord revealed exactly this. To keep us humble, He doesn't give all, all of the light to anybody. And so, there is disagreement. Always disagreement in that which is still considered opinion. Unity in truth, that which has already been declared and defined as truth. But in that which is still theological opinion, there can be disagreement. And so, again, this realizes or makes us realize something for each of us. That the light that we receive, the light of faith, the personal inspirations of Our Lord, are always His gift. And that we should receive this gift with great humility because it isn't based, it isn't given, based on our own merits. So, let's humble ourselves before the Lord. Thank Him for all of the lights and graces, that we do receive from His hands through the intercession of Our Lady. Praise be Jesus and Mary. Alleluia.
