[00:00] ♪ Ave, regina, mater misericordiae ♪ Praise be Jesus and Mary. May we celebrate a votive mass in honor of the most precious blood of Jesus. St. Thomas Aquinas once said [00:32] that one drop of Christ's blood is sufficient to save the entire world and an infinite number of worlds. When our Lord gives himself and undertakes the work of redemption, He does not merely stop at what is sufficient, but His redemptive work is superabundant. [01:02] St. Alphonsus says, our Lord did not redeem us sparingly. In His work of redemption, He went into excess, the excess of His divine love. And this is really where our confidence lies in the superabundant, superabundant love and mercy of our Lord for each and every one of us. [01:32] In times of discouragement, in times of dryness, in times of aridity, in times of spiritual desolation, this is what we need to cling to, our Lord, our Lord and what He has done and what He does for us. Because everything He does is not merely sufficient, but superabundant. St. Ignatius says, [02:02] the evil one ordinarily tries to disquiet souls with false reasons, to agitate their hearts, to deceive them. And ultimately, it's to lead them to not trust in God. He distorts the Lord's words, His promises, et cetera, et cetera. However, what our Lord did in His passion, [02:37] in shedding His blood for each and every one of us, that is a fact and a reality that nobody can ever obscure. This is why the saints encourage souls to meditate frequently on the passion. Meditating on our Lord's passion, on the shedding of His blood, softens the heart, leads to repentance, [03:08] and inflames the heart with divine love. But we are not merely called to meditate on the passion, we are called to participate and come into contact with what the Lord has done for each and every one of us. This is why in Our Lady's major apparitions, Guadalupe, Lourdes, Fatima, she always asks for a church to be built [03:38] because where the Church is, there the Blessed Sacrament is, and the sacraments are administered. She wants what her Son has done for each and every one of us to be perpetuated in time and to come into contact with souls. So let us draw with confidence from the superabundant, infinite merits of the Lord. [04:12] There is nothing, nothing, no sin that cannot be cleansed by the blood of Jesus, no wound that cannot be healed by the blood of Jesus, and nothing that cannot be redeemed by the blood of our Lord. ♪ Hos, hos, hos, misericordioso culo ♪ ♪ Hos, hos, hos, misericordioso culo ♪ [04:43] ♪ Ad nos converte ♪ ♪ Et estum benedictum, fructum benedictum ♪ ♪ Fructum benedictum, fructum benedictum, fructum benedictum ♪
