Salve, Regina, Mater Misericordiae. May the Lord Jesus give you His peace, a very happy Solemnity in this Friary of Our Lady of Guadalupe. And we rejoice today in the gift that we have been given, both one to reside here, but also in the gift of life that Our Lady has given and is giving us this morning at Holy Mass. This is a reading from the book of Ecclesiastes. We're in Advent now. All things have their season, and in their times all things pass under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to... a time to pluck up that which is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to destroy and a time to build. A time to weep and a time to laugh. A time to mourn and a time to dance. A time to scatter stones and a time to gather. A time to embrace and a time to be far from embraces. A time to get and a time to lose. A time to keep and a time to cast away. A time to rend and a time to sow. A time to keep silence and a time to... speak, a time of love and a time of hatred, a time of war and a time of peace. This day, on the solemnity of our Lady of Guadalupe, we announce a time of war, and it's in the second reading. The dragon was angered at the woman who went away to wage war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and hold fast to the testimony of Jesus. This is not our doing, this is the doing of an enemy, and we are recognizing it in a special way. Because Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patroness of life, and this is the battleground, the dragon stood to devour her firstborn son, and now he does the same with us, who carry the firstborn son in our own hearts, as really mothers of Christ. The battle's front line, the heart of the problem, and I know there's been a lot of buzz recently about both the health care mandate, and also looking at what has happened, and lots of finger-pointing in all their different directions, the religious sisters, the bishops, so forth. The heart of the problem is always going to be the new creation, and what we do at the new creation. And so, for reflection for this morning, I would propose that the heart of the problem is sacrilegious communions. I guess this is probably not something new as an insight, but at the same time, we want to take a look at the very close look at it, because all the other finger-pointings will result in this one. The sacramental cause, the root of the problem, in the order of the new creation, is our new life, and that is our new life in Christ, is undoubtedly the mass scale of sacrilegious communions made in our times, in our day. And by these sacrilegious communions, the very author of life, who is Jesus Christ, in him was life, is killed, murdered, aborted, if you will, within the very womb of the church herself. So, that's the type. The church is mother, and the church carries within her this precious cargo, divine cargo throughout all of history, which is Jesus Christ and the blessed sacraments. And we are meant to also be theotokos, and carry God within us, and that happens, it's a consummation at every holy communion. We are supposed to act as mothers of Christ. Jesus himself says, who is my mother? Those who hear the word of God and keep it, by bearing, nourishing, and nurturing the divine life, the life of grace within us. So, if we look from this perspective, this sacramental cause of the culture of death, where the mother, which is the body of Christ, faithful, and we include here priests, routinely, every Sunday, desecrate our Lord, crucifying him anew in the sacred host in their hearts. And so, from this perspective, the problem at its core lies not in the fact of the want of preaching on Prologue, but that the Holy Spirit's work for the world, the Holy Lady's life issues by the bishops and priests as important and necessary as that is but more so in the want of vigorous preaching and teaching and upholding the sixth and ninth commandments the life of chastity such that the sheep christ faithful do not become the wolves and again we include the priest in that as well so the remedy here we can see is the one who defends jesus as the child which is saint joseph and we commend in a special way this task the culture of life to his care because he flew taking the mother and the child into egypt okay now to understand a bit more deeply uh what was just proposed the teachings on the sixth and ninth commandments which have been neglected and therefore everyone routinely coming up to receive holy communion gets to the very aspect of love and we should reflect that love has two inner necessities which we reflect on conjugal love they are the procreative aspect and the unitive aspect that love without either of these two elements is not love it's not because god is love and god manifests to us in the third person of the spirit which is the holy spirit both of these aspects of love the procreative aspect in our day saint maximilian colby proposing for theological work that the holy spirit is the uncreated immaculate conception it's a very necessary linchpin of catholic theology because in god per se there is life and that life is adequately and by analogy described as a conception and that's important because it gets at the procreative aspect of love add extra in time traditionally we've seen the holy spirit the whose proprium is love as communio saint augustine is unitive as the bond of union between the personal the person of this union between father and son that love being so absolute own person okay so if that's the case and it is this is the mystery of the god who is love and then we get to the sixth and ninth commandments those things that militate against either or both of those aspects of love things like pornography which is against of course the unitive aspect principally they're all against both but if we reflect on it we see that pornography is against the unit of aspect of love does no personal exchange of love and pornography norm masturbation as well consequently these things which we would think oftentimes people are going up and receiving of the community with the things on the conscience fornication also militates against the unit of aspect of love because of the fact that it has not been sanctioned by god therefore result in always devolves into a using other, which is a perversion of authentic love. Contraception bridges the two. It is, of course, the word itself, contracept, is against the procreative, this conception of love. And, of course, it is actually a physical, oftentimes, or chemical divide at the very point of union that's meant to be fruitful between the male gamete and the female gamete. And, therefore, it's most essentially grave, and we'll tie it later, how the culture, the mindset of contraception always will result in abortive mentality. And we'll go further, and as you know here, of course, if we hold, as quote-unquote Catholics, respectfully disagree with the Church on any of these things, then we're going to have to do something about it. these things that we're looking at. Just as, well, by comparison, Jesus Christ and the Blessed Sacrament is a sign and a cause of communion, of unity among Christ's faithful, if we dissent obstinately, knowing what the Church teaches, and then decide otherwise. First of all, we know that we're no longer standing on a rock. Our faith is not a rock. Our faith is a grain of sand. It's my own. It's my own. It's my own. It's my own. It's my own. It's my own. It's my own. It's my own. It's my own opinion. We should not go up to receive Holy Communion if we hold those things. I believe that the Church is wrong on contraception. You should not be receiving Holy Communion. There might not be any physical activity, even if you're not practicing contraception. If you are, you definitely should not be receiving Holy Communion. But if you hold to that, knowing the Church's teaching, you should not be receiving Holy Communion. You should not be receiving Holy Communion. Why? Because in the act, the volitional act, there is a departure. And again, knowingly, all the things that make up grave sin, deliberation, consent, not receive Holy Communion. Homosexuality goes against certainly the procreative aspect, right? There's no possibility that there's going to be. A fruit from this union, and is it truly a union? Because there's not a complementary. They're established by God. And consequently, like contraception, we can say, if you want to weigh things on a scale, it's graver than these grave sins. Everything in mercy, and that does not discount truth. If we hold as Catholics that the Church is wrong about same-sex union, then don't talk about the Vikings. We should not be the ones receiving Holy Communion, just because there's a volitional abstinent, if those things apply to the individual conscience against the very nature of love. Which is communion. If you had other kinds of such as works of worship, breaching and這個是 divine. Abortion is the a owe экstra ultimate victory of the Dragon. It is extends both the unions and the chromos hört autonomous and purl stream of God's holy knitting. Sometimes people who had signs of that used that word, there's that signs to not let Easter be that. It's that class thing that's around a bernard Smith, but it's also an kau men's gospel family, that doesn't say a ditty in the Bible. There's a national spectacle in the Bible where they sing, you know the the unitive and procreative aspects of love, and it turns the most profound bond on the natural level between mother and child into a bond of murder. 50% of all Catholics support abortion. It is a velvet revolution, the anti-culture of death. This story was standing outside... The abortuary and people, perhaps of goodwill, but certainly misinformed, came up and rolled down the window and drove up. Of course, on the sidewalk, you're very vulnerable. And the Velvet Revolution takes this form. The man says to us, as sidewalk counselors, please go home. We're a family community here with children. And he rolls up his window and he drives off with his Obama bumper sticker. And it's one of those moments like sometimes you see in the cartoons, you just blink. Why? Because you're no longer a family community. You're a community that is, every week, disposing in your trash pickup 10 to 20 children. That's what's not seen. That must be seen. That must be seen. That must be seen. Sidewalk counselors are heroes in the culture war. They stand in the breach. They should not be relegated by the church, nor the church authorities, to something that is an irritation. The art of warfare is to stand under, like we said yesterday, this word, remaining under and abiding under a crucified truth. The art of warfare is to stand under, like we said yesterday, this word, remaining under and abiding under a crucified truth. Christ is the truth, and we are to remain under with him. And the truth of abortion is that it is murder. It's prenatal murder. Or we could say it's murder in utero. Let it be known. Let it be written. Let it be proclaimed as such. Our Lady of Guadalupe is, in one sense, our general in this fight. The image that we have behind us is something of a divine codex. A symbol of the book of life. She is with child. And there's a slight swelling of her abdomen. There's a four-petaled flower over her womb, which is the flower of the sun, which is a symbol of life for the Aztecs. There's vegetation. There's also these stems of these petals, which are glyphs for water, life-giving water. And the gift that we have in Our Lady of Guadalupe. Is that the tilma had a great meaning for the Aztecs. It was an ordinary garment used for work. But it was also something in their marriage ceremonies that the tilma of the man was tied to the garment of the woman. And that's important. Because for us, too, our interiors, we must be tied to the woman. And it's the woman who has, in the book of Revelation, fled to the wilderness to be nourished for a time. And her children are in this arena. And we must be tied to her. And that's, of course, the life of grace in the church. And it's also marrying consecration. And the art of warfare revolves around the heart of mercy. And being able to stand under the crucified truth without. The temptation is great to take out the sword and decapitate. Your brothers and sisters who are lost sheep. It's an art of mercy, spiritually ordered the mercy towards our brothers and sisters who have been lost and are in error. And the warfare against the demons. Consequently, there should be much Eucharistic reparation going on. This Holy Mass. Thanks be to God. There was a blank space in the book. And so this Holy Mass is in reparation. For sacrilegious communions. We have a charge within us. And Father John Harden, who was certainly a prophetic voice in our day. Talked about crushing abortion the Catholic way. Which is the only way that it will be crushed. And he highlights chastity, which we looked at. He highlights Eucharistic adoration, which we've looked at. And he highlights poverty. Because the abortion engine runs on money. And is designed to generate lots of cash. And so a pro-life penance in Advent. We should gear ourselves towards pro-life penances. Because it's a time of waiting for the child. The divine child. Do some research. Make a sacrifice. Boycott a company that supports Planned Parenthood. Find out. You might be overwhelmed. I imagine you would be. And I can't do everything. Because everything is a sacrifice. I can't do everything. I can't do everything. I can't do everything. I can't do everything. I can't do everything. I can't do everything. I can't do everything. I can't do everything. Everyone is tied to everything. But be selective. Make a little step in that direction. And do some research. Because there's lots of ways we can vote. And that's one way that will cause people to listen. And if we boycott a certain company, we'll let them know. I'm writing to you because of your stance. Because of funding of Planned Parenthood. Which is the head of the serpent in our day. So we have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. We have a challenge. And it has not been declared by us, but by the dragon. And we respond to it with confidence. With joy. With assurance of victory. Consequently, keeping our eyes on the prize means the eternal life of glory that awaits us far outstrips any sufferings that are to come. And that implies, personal relationships with friends and families where a hard word can be needed. And so, the truth. We end with a prayer by St. Anthony Marie Claret. Let victory be thine, O Mother. Thou will conquer, for thou has the power to overcome all heresies, errors, and vice. And I, confident in thy powerful protection, will engage in battle, not only against flesh and blood, but against the princes of darkness. And as the Apostle says, grasping the shield of the Holy Rosary, not to forget the Rosary, and armed with the double-edged sword of the Divine Word, thou art the Queen of Angels. Command them, O Great Queen, to come to my aid. Thou well knowest my weakness and the strength of my enemies. Thou art also the Queen of Saints. Command them, O Mary, to intercede for me and tell them that the victory and the triumph will redound to the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls. Repress, O Lady, by thy humility the pride of Lucifer and his followers who have the audacity to lead astray souls redeemed by the blood of Jesus, the Son of the Virgin, thy virginal womb. This day, let us begin our joyful task of union, our fruitful union with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, making reparation for the sins committed in our days. Let us stand out from Salvation in '' happ tego stupidum '' let us humble ourselves andrada in mourning for the sins of Gaia and venerate by Christ and lest we be harkened and 섭 in our prayers to nave on in our bonds with the Holy Spirit. Let us lookор at the same sight where we have been had the great bondage of God
