A magnificent prayer, the only prayer that I know that we have of Our Lady, these are
her words, but as you can see, it's filled with all kinds of comparisons to what has
been said in the scriptures, in fact we see it in the Responsorial Psalm today, which
is Hannah's prayer, my heart exalts in the Lord my Saviour, my heart exalts in the Lord,
my horn is exalted in my God.
And it's, see the bows of the mighty are broken while the tottering gird on strength,
and so forth.
Very similar in respects to Hannah's prayer, and it is, certainly as we know Our Lady was
well versed in the scriptures.
If we have any scripture scholars or anybody who knows the scriptures, we admire them.
But Our Lady had all infused.
She used knowledge so she knew the scriptures better than any theologian, any doctor of
the church.
So this comes from the abundance of her heart.
How she proclaims the greatness of the Lord and her spirit rejoices in God her Saviour.
Because God has looked upon her in her lowliness.
She knows that she's nothing, all creatures are nothing compared to God.
But as we see in the next line, from all generations.
We'll call me blessed because the almighty has done great things for me.
Great things, the great things of course are, she is the mother of God.
Who could ever imagine what it is to be the mother of God?
No creature is worthy of that, but Our Lady was made worthy by God.
She is his perfect creation, spotless, immaculate without sin.
And she's the worthy mother of God.
Of course of what God has done to her and she says that here, he that is mighty has
done great things to me.
He has mercy on those who fear him in every generation and we praise the goodness of God.
How God blesses all those who fear him.
Now that fear of course is not always the fear of the servile fear, all those who are
afraid of God.
But those who fear God, who love God.
Because when you really, when you have love for somebody, you never want to hurt them.
And that's what we mean by a fear of God.
The fear of not offending God.
Not because you're afraid of God and he's going to send you to hell or punish you.
But because you love him.
Just like a husband and a wife should be fearful of offending either party because they love
them.
We don't want to hurt our parents because we love them.
We don't want to hurt our spouse because we love them.
We're not afraid of what they're going to do to us, but we love them.
And that's what Our Lady is talking about.
He has shown strength in his arm and scattered the proud in their conceit.
So even the proud that he, our Lord, God will scatter those who are proud.
And we have the compliment to that.
Now we know we, those proud people who oppress us, our Lord will deliver us from evil.
So we have no fear.
God will help his people.
He has cast down the mighty from their thrones and has lifted up the lowly.
Another stanza of praising God.
God always exalts the humble and lowers, and lowers the proud.
He has come to the help of God.
He is the servant of Israel, for he remembered his promise of mercy.
This is the promise to Abraham, that his seed would be glorified forever and ever.
And from his seed would come the Redeemer.
So Our Lady is promising, praising God for keeping his promise to Abraham and his children
forever.
He sees his promise at the tip of the tomb.

Verse 24.
He sets out the提
He takes his Father's Bi complacibleton sin.
He says,
I am set free.
I am redeemed.
brings many blessings.
But when Elizabeth is about to have her child,
Our Lady departs and returns to her own home.
So in this beautiful, magnificent evening prayer of the Church,
we have Our Lady's praise of God,
so filled with meaning, so important.
And out of the abundance of her heart,
Our Lady praises God,
My soul magnifies the Lord,
My spirit rejoices in God my Saviour,
For he that is mighty has done great things to me.
Great things.
I am the mother of God.
And of course Our Lady knows she didn't deserve it.
No one deserves to be the mother of God.
But she's exceedingly happy,
because God has come to his people.
God is going to be the Redeemer of Israel,
the promised Messiah.
Our Lady is so filled with joy,
because He that is mighty has done great things for me,
and not only for me,
but also for the whole world,
and all of mankind, and all of Israel.
So we rejoice as we now approach Christmas,
and Our Lady is about to give birth to the Son of God,
the incarnation of God,
the greatest event,
event the world has ever seen.
So let us meditate on the third mystery of the rosary
and the second mystery of the rosary, the visitation.
We just saw with this, with Our Lady's praise.
And of course, the next mystery, the birth of Jesus.
How Jesus will be born in a stable.
We rejoice at that great event.
And let us hope that the world would also
come to understand the true reason
for the Christmas season.
It's the birth of Jesus.
It's not presents.
It's not all kinds of decorations and so on.
As I said, those are all nice things.
They enhance the beauty of the time.
But the spiritual beauty is the essence of it.
This is in our hearts, so we rejoice with this.
What God has done for his children.
How much God loves us.
God loves us so much.
That he became one of us.
St. Francis loved Our Lady because it was through her
that Jesus Christ became our brother.
So we rejoice at this wonderful event in the world.
The Virgin Mother of God.
And God becoming man.
So we pray our rosary as Our Lady at Fatima requested.
And we meditate on these mysteries.
Over and over again.
And we ask for the fruit of the mysteries.
We ask for the fruit of the mystery of the visitation.
The fruit of humility.
To have a humble virtue of humility.
So that we see how much God has done for us
and for the church and for the world.
We pray for that virtue.
As when we pray the visitation.
And when we pray the third joyful mystery.
We ask for the fruit of this mystery.
Which could be love.
To love God more and more.
Because he has loved us first.
