Today, in the life of the Church, we celebrate that event explained by St. John the Evangelist in his Apocalypse, that is, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Body and Soul into Heaven. And as we often know, that in the spiritual life, our life is filled with sorrows and trials and tribulations. But as St. Thomas Aquinas and all great spiritual writers point out, especially the lot of the true followers of Christ, cannot be a life that is rooted merely in these sorrows and these tribulations. There must be joy in the life of everyone who truly seeks to pursue Almighty God. And so, today, we celebrate one of those truths of our faith, that is, to fill our hearts with joy. That is, that the Blessed Virgin Mary, by the power and grace of God, has truly risen from the dead and been brought into Heaven, Body and Soul. We can only imagine what a great event, what greatness this event was filled with, as the Blessed Virgin Mary was led into Heaven amongst the angelic choirs with all the angels and the saints, lining the royal road by which she would traverse to Heaven before being presented to the throne of Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, there to take up her seat as Queen of Heaven and Earth. For this day, too, the Blessed Virgin Mary is crowned Queen of the Universe. And so, it is the culminating point. And so, it is the culminating point of the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. And it confirms all those doctrines about her. And when we reflect upon these doctrines of Our Lady, we see very clearly that many of them are intended to fill our hearts with joy. That is, her Immaculate Conception, her becoming the Mother of God by receiving the Christ Child in her womb, and all those, her queenship, and all those things that bring joy to the heart of the Christian as they travel to Heaven. And so, it is this life, too, that the Mother of God traversed through. It is this life that she traversed through with her Son, culminating in that greatest of all sorrows, but also that greatest act of love and soul also intended to bring joy to our heart. That is, the crucifixion and death of her Son and the traversing of her own heart on that same day of Our Lord's. Passion, death, and ultimately, His resurrection. And so, this day, we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary, for she participates fully in the resurrection of Christ, and there sits as Queen of Heaven and Earth to fill us with joy and to strengthen us with grace in order that we, too, may deal with the sorrows and the trials and the tribulations in this life in order, ultimately, to acquire that which she has now for all eternity by which she has been born. By which she directs all the angels and the saints to assist us in our life of sojourning here on Earth so that one day, too, we may participate as she did in the resurrection of Christ. This mystery of our faith, this joy of our faith, is intended primarily to strengthen the virtue of hope by which we believe God will give us all that is necessary in order to receive what He has promised us. Amen. Amen. As He promised all, and particularly, His mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, that those who serve Him and respond to His grace in this life will receive that eternal reward, and no one responded to the grace of Almighty God as the Blessed Virgin Mary. Indeed, Scripture is replete with references that confirm the doctrine of her Immaculate Conception, particularly the first prophecy that is given in Scripture about the woman who would come to Christ to crush the serpent and his seed, and most especially how that passage points out that there is enmity between the woman and the seed of Satan, and that enmity is universal. It is an enmity that begins with her conception and never ends. For with the Mother of God, we have that one creature of the human family who never, from the first moment of her conception, was separated from Almighty God. And this day, we celebrate her reunion with the Blessed Trinity in a unique way as the triumphant Queen of Heaven and Earth. And so, let us truly have confidence this day, for we know in this doctrine that God truly is faithful to His promise, for He promised that in the end, all of us, if we serve Him faithfully as the Mother of God did, will rise one day and be reunited with Him. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. confirmed for all times and for all places that God is truly faithful to His promise and that it is true, no matter how much we have sinned in this life, if we turn to Him, begging His forgiveness, ultimately, we will receive that which the Mother of God enjoys now by a special prerogative based, rooted ultimately in Her immaculate conception and all the prerogatives that flowed from it. Her motherhood, everything her queenship everything that flowed from that purity that she had from the first moment of her existence and so we can truly rejoice with the whole mystical body of Christ the church militant on earth the church suffering in purgatory and the church triumphant in heaven for this day our lady truly has our truly our lady truly has been assumed into heaven there to reign as queen over the mystical body until the end of time and so she truly is guiding and directed the assault against satan and his minions to ultimately drive that influence from the hearts in the minds of men so that we concentrating on these eternal things on eternal things may truly be buoyed up strengthened in our faith hope and charity and ultimately receive our eternal reward and so let us always you remember as Christians that while our life is filled with sorrows trials and tribulations it is those joys ultimately that sustain us with the belief that at the end of our lives we truly will return to the God from whom we came and so let us seek always and everywhere those joys that are rooted in supernatural realities not the false joys in the false pleasures of this world that are held out to us as a remedy for the sorrow and the sorrow the trials and the tribulations that all that all members of the human family have to suffer and endure in this life but let us truly strive to reflect upon those mysteries that will truly strengthen strengthen us with the hope that we too may one day be reunited with our mother in heaven and with all the angels and saints join her in praising our good God together for all eternity so pray god we want to brother jealous so pray god we want to brother jealous so pray god we want to brother jealous here here here through through through Thank you.
