Salve, Regina, Mater Misericordiae. Tutte tenebre. Tutte tenebre. These are the words that St. Pio of Petrocina used to describe the times in which we currently live. Tutte tenebre. It means all is darkness. All is darkness. Today we celebrate the feast of the visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. That day in which Mary, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, went in haste to charitably serve the needs of her cousin, St. Elizabeth. Our Lady carried in her womb he who is the light and life of the world, he who was to scatter the darkness and give life in abundance. But as St. John says in the beginning of his Gospel, he came unto his own, but his own did not receive him. The world, today, more than ever, does not receive him, he who is the light and life of the world. And as a result, Tutte tenebre. All is darkness. Instead of the light of truth and goodness, the world has preferred the darkness of error and sin. Instead of life and abundance, the world has preferred death of both body and soul. We have reached the point, now, for about 25 years, where we are killing children, unborn children, under the cover of law. The Prince of Darkness, who was a liar and the father of lies, has darkened enough minds that we are actually killing children by abortion, and doing it legally. We should never stop to marvel at this fact of how dark things have become. Through the envy of the devil, death came into the world. That's what the Scripture tells us. And his plan for mankind hasn't changed. He is a murderer from the beginning. Darkness and death, Tutte tenebre. Let us pray that our Lady will visit our world, which is steeped in darkness. And let us ask her to bring us he who is the light, he who is true life, and save us from destruction. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Amen.
