Looking to refresh the color on your home's walls?
Many people are asking if it's OK to paint over dirty walls.
The truth is that you have to carefully clean your walls prior to painting.
Follow this 4-step process to get your walls ready for painting and make their color remain bright over time:
Use a sponge, mild washing liquid and warm water. For kitchen walls exposed to grime or oil, clean the walls using dish soap poured in water and then follow up with just clean water. Last, clean the walls with a damp cloth and wait till they dry.
Wear your gloves and safety glasses and wash any spots covered by mildew. Scrub the affected area with a sponge, 1/4 of bleach and ¾ of water. Wait for a few minutes and wash the wall using just clean water.
Sand the wall's surface to polish it prior to painting. Use sandpaper to dull any bumpy surfaces and after that wipe away dust and debris with a rag. Let it to dry out before you start painting.
Use a paint primer for an uniform finish!
