Remembering Mark Stingley

The Anthony H.N. Schnelling Endowment Fund mourns the loss of Mark Stingley (Bryan Cave LLP), who passed away on July 9 following a short illness. Mark was a tireless and dedicated supporter of the Endowment Fund throughout his long association with ABI. Not only was Mark a Millennium Level donor, but he frequently pitched in to help organize Endowment fundraisers, such as the upcoming River Roast Endowment Wine Dinner happening November 9 in Chicago. As noted in the August issue of the ABI Journal, Mark touched his many friends and colleagues with his warmth, compassion, and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed.
What the Fund Pays for
ABI’s Commission on Consumer Bankruptcy is in full swing. In July, the Commission’s Advisory Committee on Chapter 13 held a public meeting during the National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees’ 2017 Annual Seminar on July 15 in Seattle. Attendees were invited to provide written and oral statements about chapter 13 issues the Commission is considering. The video of the meeting, along with the written statements provided to the committee, can be found on the Commission’s website.

The next stop for the Consumer Commission is the annual meeting of the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees on Sept. 13-17 in New Orleans. During this convention, the Commission’s Advisory Committee on Chapter 7 will hold its first public meeting. The Consumer Commission will also appear at ABI’s sessions at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges on Oct. 10 in Las Vegas and at ABI’s Hon. Eugene R. Wedoff Seventh Circuit Consumer Bankruptcy Conference in Chicago on Nov. 10. The final Commission program for 2017 will be held at ABI’s Winter Leadership Conference in La Quinta, Calif., Nov. 30-Dec. 2. Look for more information, as well as invitations to provide statements at these meetings, on the Commission’s website (ConsumerCommission.abi.org).
