Control of the state Senate may be up for grabs this year.

Republicans are up 27-23 now, with 25 seats are up for election this year.

The races most likely to determine the majority this year are for the 26th, 32nd, 40th. Since the 38th will change from D to R due to redistricting, Democrats probably have to win all three of those to get a 25-25 tie.

Other hotly contested races could include the 6th, 44th and 50th districts.
