Practice/Mission/Vision Statement

Karen’s focus is to assist the client to become the person they feel they are meant to be and to participate in life in the way in which they feel fulfilled. Focus is usually on releasing trauma, depression, anxiety and self-limiting behaviors, achieving personal growth, managing stress, and/or improving conflictual relationship problems through a combination of treatment methods.

Karen works with adolescents (11+), adults, older adults, families and couples to decrease negativity and blocks in their lives and assist them to meet their goals, increase their self esteem in order to move forward in their lives in a positive and fulfilled manner.

 

Karen uses traditional and non-traditional methods – Cognitive/Behavioral, ACT, Insight into patterns within several generations, Hypnosis, Reiki, Skill Building, Couples or Family Therapy – in her practice.

About

 

Karen has worked in social work in one capacity or another since 1967. She has done protective service, foster care, adoptions, hospital social work, and ran an agency of home-based workers for the elderly. She has had extensive experience with families and couples and worked with Hospice.

 

She graduated in 1986 from the University of South Florida with a master’s degree in Social Work and since that time has focused on outpatient psychotherapy in Michigan.
