2003 Upper Tuner Upper Regatta Results
Upper Minnetonka YC, MN
May 17 - 18, 2003
(Results and narrative submitted by Noel Neuman on May 21, 2003)
Saturday saw no wind until about 1pm. Race one began with light shifty air from the Southeast. We had a tight start with everyone trying to stay in phase, and we saw several lead changes during the race. By race two the wind had increased to 8-12, and continued shifty.
The evening party was not to be missed, with grilled kebobs and live music. We share this regatta with the C fleet, and things can get a bit wild.
Sunday saw stronger winds at 10-15 from the SSE. Race 3 concluded with a downwind finish, with Bill Colburn just ahead of the second place battle between Brad Farrar and Noel Neuman, who were overlapped with only inches separating the two boats. Race 4 concluded the regatta with a final upwind battle between Bob Sevey and Bill Colburn.
Special thanks to Regatta organizer Scott Colesworth and PRO Scott Brown.
