Ohio Building Officials Association

OBOA is a professional association founded in 1961 to promote Life Safety through building codes with improved responsiveness and consistency in enforcement.  Members include over 1,000 Certified Building Code Professionals, Design Professionals and Building Trade Representatives.  OBOA supported the creation of the International Code Council (ICC), in fact the first ICC President was an OBOA member. OBOA was the driving force that created the first ICC regional chapter, Region V. OBOA members continue to be involved with the Code Hearing and Adoption process.

The OBOA Foundation 

The OBOA Foundation was formed in 2020 as a 501(c)(3) to promote education of those within the building industry, including assisting those wanting to enter the industry as designers, builders, skilled trades, code administrators, building owners and operators. Trustees of the OBOA foundation are the elected or appointed officers of the Ohio Building Officials Association and shall be the president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and immediate past president.  The immediate goal of the OBOA Foundation is to raise approximately $50,000 to finance annual scholarships through investment earnings. Fundraisers are planed to help the Foundation meet it's Goal...
