Virtual Machines That Cannot Be Replicated

After creating a VPG, you can add or remove virtual machines as required. Some virtual machines cannot be included in a VPG for replication. The VMs listed below will not appear in the Create VPG wizard.

In vSphere Environments

A virtual machine with IDE devices.
A virtual machine with a VRA installed on it (VM VRA).
A virtual machine on a host that has no VRA installed.
A virtual machine that was created after performing a Failover Test.
A virtual machine with VMware Fault Tolerance.
A virtual machine that is connected to DVDs.
A virtual machine with no disks attached.
A virtual machine that was not removed from the inventory.
A virtual machine that has RDM attached to a Buslogic controller.

In vCloud Director

A virtual machine with IDE devices.
A virtual machine used for testing purposes.
A virtual machine with no disks attached.
A virtual machine created in and managed by vCD.

In Hyper-V Environments

A virtual machine with a VRA installed on it (VM VRA).
A virtual machine on a host that has no VRA installed.
A virtual machine that was created after performing a Failover Test.
A virtual machine that is connected to DVDs.
A virtual machine with no disks attached.
A virtual machine that was removed from the inventory.
A virtual machine with pass-through disks and shared disks.

In Azure Environments

A virtual machine that was created after performing a Failover Test.
A virtual machine with no disks attached.
A virtual machine that has multiple NICs using the same MAC address.
Volumes residing in premium storage accounts.
VMs with disks that are not Managed Premium disks, Managed Standard SSD disks or Managed Standard HDD disks.
VMs with disks in storage accounts.

In AWS Environments

A virtual machine that was created after performing a Failover Test.
A virtual machine with no disks attached.
