Kevin’s
produced works include:
· BEANSTALK! THE MUSICAL
(Returning to St. Louis July 20-29, 2007) Webster Groves Theatre Guild,
St. Louis, to revive this nontraditional view of the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale.
· MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL! (Performed March-April 2005 in Los
Angeles, CA). This two-act musical comedy is about two people trying
to write a musical about Lizzie Borden called "40 Whacks: The
Musical!"
· THE TAUNTING (Performed May 2004 in North Hollywood, CA).
This 10-minute play about a nightmare regarding a fatal car accident
was produced by Lone Star Productions as part of its short plays
festival.
· FAT! THE MUSICAL (Performed May–July 1999 in Hollywood,
CA). Book and lyrics cowritten with Patricia Cotter, music by Kevin,
this comedy about food, women, and eating disorders. Oh, and it
was all done in drag.
· LESTER KATZ (Performed April 1999, Hollywood, CA). This
comic monologue about an aging blues harp player in Chicago was
performed as part of the Playwright Express Festival.
· BEANSTALK! THE MUSICAL (Performed October 1998, St. Louis,
MO). Mary Magdalene Community Theater, St. Louis, mounted this nontraditional
view of the Jack and the Beanstalk fairy tale.
· PHOBIA (Performed March–May 1997, Century City, CA).
This collection of works by Los Angeles writers involved various
phobias and included the monologue Fences, about a son coming to
grips with his father’s death from cancer, and the comic sketch
The Flight (cowritten with Patricia Cotter), which explored fears
of death and flying.
· NICE GUYS (Performed October 1996, North Hollywood, CA).
Spoken-word artist Sally Shore featured four short stories by Kevin,
presented as monologues in her long-running series Spotlight on
L.A. Writers.
· A CONDO IN CEDAR RIDGE (Performed November 1993, Hollywood,
CA). This one-act comedy about a musician’s move to Los Angeles
and the woman he broke up with to do so was performed at the Groundlings
Theater.
