Clear paste wax to the lift plate, as recommended by Woodpecker, and to all laminate surfaces as well.
I have the top glued up and laminated with formica, and now comes the scary part: Cutting the opening for my Woodpecker router lift.
Wrap the piece of MDF you will be using to make your own template with masking tape and mold release wax. Place the guide strips around the router plate as outlined in the instructions you are using. Mix up some bondo and add it to the corners around the plate to make up the difference between the guide strips and router plate. Use a jig saw to remove most of the material from the mdf template and rout out the remainder of the material. 
Your router table drawers will fit better if you insure that the inside width at the top matches that of the bottom.
