Used lathe mill combo for sale, free wood armoire plans, wooden toy car plans free, free step by step woodworking plans - .
Order a select Granite 3-in-1 machine or Midas 1220 LTD before December 31st and we will pay for the shipping! Note the Wahli doesn't need a seperate mill head as the lathe head rises and falls like a small horizontal boring mill. I have looked for such machines myself because they would work well for the scale of most of the prototype work that I do. Your friend does beautiful work (thanks for fixing the link Skippy.) Seems he could make his own small scale machine and it would be far better than most anything money can buy since he already knows what goes in to machine tools and what he wants out of them.
Ive used several types of combo machines namely the grizzly type, harbour freight and even a smithy. I can safely give them a blanket condemnation of being absolutely useless, if you like fidgeting for hours on end and in the smithy's case, paying twice what a separate used lathe and mill would cost then its the machine for you.
The Golmatic is cool, but you could build a shed and put a nice used Bridgeport and lathe in it for the same price. About 15 years ago, I was temporarily working in a lab at Cern, Geneva and there was this little combo machine which I fell in love with.
I had a Smithy Lathe and Mill combination machine for years, it was a good lathe for basic turning, threading on that machine was a joke! I mean, yes there are things like the Golmatic but the price is ridiculous and used ones almost nonexistant.
