Red stained wood cabinets, ping pong table wood plans, how to build a small wood ramp for shed - Test Out
I am planning to install Solid hardwood Santos Mahogany or cherry or Brazilian Rosewood flooring in living-dining room where as my kitchen cabinets, fire place mantle, stairs and stairs railings are all natural red oak.
I am planning to remodel my kitchen, one thing I hate my maple cabinets are the same color as my maple floors. My kids just built a new home and they purposely chose dark kitchen cabinets and light wood floors.
For the wood stain option, we offer panels, doors and drawer fronts made from solid wood and veneers. Many of our refacing projects include changes to existing cabinets, while the layout and the counter top remain the same. Most folks look at hardwood kitchen cabinets and see an aesthetically pleasing kitchen cabinet choice- nothing more, nothing less. I will be putting down quarter-sawn red-oak flooring in my kitchen, and thought be default, that white painted cabinets would be best.
We tried to match the cabinets to the darker wood in the dining area floor -- the cabinets are cinnamon spice stained birch.
If your dining room is next to your kitchen, the same wood should carry though both of them. A more upscale type of hardwood, cherry is very strong and normally is stained medium or dark, although it darkens with age. Its smooth texture makes oak very versatile for any kitchen, as finishes and stains are easily applicable. So please show me some stained wood cabinets and wood floor combination's to help me change my mind. Oops I need some new pictures as my new dining table (auburn stained maple to match the cabinets) and chairs finally arrived.
The floors have more variation than the cabs because they are a mix of flat, rift, and qtr sawn, but overall are similar in tone now because my cabinets have darkened a bit since this photo was taken.
It's my DH's favorite part of the new house - and I had to convince him to go with this wood :) Our flooring installer got the flooring for us. That seems to be the width I love the best and wish an engineered wood floor I liked would come in that width.
If I bought your house, I might stain or paint your stair railings just to soften all that oak.
Adding cherry kitchen cabinets is a great way to bring a simple elegance to your kitchen’s cabinets. A hardly noticeable grain and evn surface make accepting different stains and finishes easy. I believe the dining area has oak and cherry with a very mixed wood border -- I am not sure as the floors are original to our 1920s house. As you can see in the pic above, the red of the cherry and the red of the oak look nice together even if the cherry is much darker. It makes the rooms look choppy, but there isn't any reason to have furniture or installed cabinetry matching the flooring.
