How to paint black lacquer on wood, light blue wood stain, oak roll top desk parts, free bunk bed furniture plans - Within Minutes
I have to say that working with lacquer is much more difficult and time-consuming than working with acrylic (what I normally use). We also strip, undercoat and paint wood items with fine sprayed oil paint or solid color lacquers! Amy Howard at Home has a very exciting product out — High Performance Furniture Lacquer (in a spray can!).
I have an old 1970s French Provincial dresser and night stand that was white and gold lacquer .
Since this would be my first time working with lacquer, I did a ton of research on how to apply it and how to achieve that perfect, shiny finish we all want.
Upholstery that requires some wood repair, stripping and refinishing of the wood, and then upholstery requires the double period.
Just prime your piece, spray it on — and a pale, faded piece of furniture transforms into an edgy, chic high-fashion statement piece set in lacquer. If you are not extremely patient or are unwilling to spend several days working on perfecting the finish, I wouldn’t recommend attempting a lacquer finish.
HOWEVER - stripping, refinishing, upholstery, and wicker projects require shipping for quality results. I saw it at Market…Amy Howard had lacquered a cute thrift shop table, and it was gorgeous!
