Diy wooden tripod floor lamp, grape arbor designs plans, design your own pergola uk - Plans Download
I love using wood and lots of it around the house, so I thought we should try a veneer lampshade for our lamp.
So happy to find this (via dwelling gawker) I’ve been LOVING the trip-pod lamp, and lazily thinking of ways to make one myself.
We have been busy DIYers around here, which has paid off because today is the first day of my Knock Off Decor Series and I am so excited about it!
West Elm is one of my favorite stores and when I was browsing around in there a few months ago, I fell in love with their wood tripod floor lamp. Step 1: Spray paint the top ring of the lamp shade that you ripped apart, 3 cable clips and screws that go with them, and your cord in the color of your choice. Step 2: Cut each of your wood legs to 55 inches at a 5° angle at the top and bottom making sure that the surfaces of the ends are parallel.
Have a buddy, hold up your cut legs in the position that they will be on your finished lamp while you hold the ring in place toward the bottom and mark where the cable clips will go.
You want to make sure that your lamp will be steady so be sure that the legs are not too close together.
It is really important to pre drill your holes and go slow because you are working with small pieces of wood and you don’t want them to split.
When Kiri from ilikethatlamp contacted us about the lampshade kits she sold, I thought this project would be perfect to try it with!
Love this lamp,I’m going for a industrial decor in my living room and this lamp will be another show piece with all the pipes, hairpin and wood tables and tv table, will send you a picture when the lamp is all finish. I’ve been wanting to update the lamp in our living room for a while now and thought one of these lamps would be fun to make. Figure out how tall you will want your lampshade to be and measure and mark that on the veneer (ours is 12″ tall).
I made a tripod lamp and it took forever to find the perfect one… so great idea to just make your own.
Lay out the pieces on the floor and combine them in various ways until you get the shape you want. A pendant socket was threaded through the top of the tripod and then the light bulb was added. Remove the sheet music holder, attach the lamp switch to the tripod and then insert the power cable into the hollow shaft.
