Thanks for Using deNovo!

Welcome and thanks for using my deNovo WordPress theme. Please read this carefully! Should you have any doubts or experience any problems, please visit the ThemeShift support forums to post your question.

Installation

  1. Download deNovo zip archive.
  2. Go to WP-Admin > Appearance > Install Themes > Upload and choose the new theme zip folder.

To find out more about installing WordPress themes please also see the WordPress documentation.

Update

  1. Download the new version of the theme.
  2. Deactivate the current version of the theme and remove the files from your server. (*)
  3. Go to WP-Admin > Appearance > Install Themes > Upload and choose the new theme zip folder.

(*) Backup your old theme files! Any changes you have made to the theme templates will be lost. Please consider using Child Themes.

Please notice! You can download the latest version of the theme with the download link that has been sent to you after purchase at any time. Please save this link for future updates!

Theme Support

ThemeShift theme packages include support. After you purchased your theme from the ThemeShift website you will get unlimited access to the ThemeShift support forums. There you can post any theme-related problems indicating your WordPress version and the URL of the site the theme is installed on.

Please notice! I cannot provide support for WordPress in general, any third party plugins or major personal customizations of a theme.

Please notice! I'll manually upgrade your account. If the name and/or email is different from the one you made the purchase with, post the details (transaction ID, name or email) in the forums or send me a direct message to simon@themeshift.com.

Post / Page Images

The theme supports WordPress post thumbnails. To add the main post image please click on Set featured image in the Featured Image box on the right, upload your image and click Use as featured image. deNovo will automatically create all the necessary image sizes.

Upload Custom Logo

On the theme options page you can insert the URL or directly upload your custom logo.

  1. Click on Upload Image
  2. Choose the image file from your computer
  3. Click on Media Library
  4. Click on Show
  5. Click on Insert into Post *

* Please make sure that the size Full Size is selected.

Read More Buttons

To cut off posts and create a read more button please use the WordPress more tag. You'll find this feature in the tool bar of the WordPress post editor. Please find some more information.

Theme Options

In order to customize deNovo to your needs please visit WP-Admin > deNovo > Theme Options in the WP-Admin menu and set your options.

Other

  1. Logo

    Please enter an URL or upload your custom logo from your local computer.

  2. RSS URL

    Please enter your custom RSS URL (e.g. Feedburner).

  3. Custom CSS

    Easily add some custom css to the head of your theme.

  4. Tracking Code

    Insert your tracking code here (e.g. Google Analytics). This code will be added to the footer of the theme.

Layout

  1. Link Color

    Please select your preferred color for links and buttons.

  2. Button Size

    Please check the box if you prefer bigger buttons.

  3. Background

    Please select your preferred background pattern for the header.

  4. Homepage

    Check if you want to display the homepage in a 1-column layout.

  5. Archives

    Check if you want to display archive pages (category etc.) in a 1-column layout.

Menu

  1. Home Link

    Check the box if you want to hide the home link. If you need more space for other menu items.

  2. Category Menu

    Please enter IDs of categories that you want to exclude form the category menu (e.g. 2,13,45).

  3. Page Menu

    Please enter IDs of pages that you want to exclude form the page menu (e.g. 5,28,119).

Slider

  1. Display

    Please check the box if you want to completely hide the content slider.

  2. Effect

    Please select your preferred effect for the content slider. You can choose between fade, scrollHorz, scrollVert, uncover, zoom, shuffle, none.

  3. Timer

    Please select how many seconds each item is displayed. Choose 0 to turn off auto slide.

  4. Content

    Please select posts or pages to be displayed in the featured content slider.

  5. Category

    If you select posts, please select a category for the slider (if empty -> most recent).

  6. Items

    If you select posts, please select how many items you want to display in the slider.

  7. Drop Shadow

    By default the deNovo produces a drop shadow under the slider image. This might be disturbing if you use transparent PNGs.

If pages: You can add static pages to the slider by creating a custom field called page with the value slider.

Homepage

  1. Content

    Please select posts or pages to be displayed on the homepage.

  2. Category

    If you select posts, please select a category for the homepage (if empty -> most recent).

  3. Items

    If you select posts, please select how many items you want to display on the homepage. If no category selected go to WP-Admin > Settings > Reading.

If pages: You can add static pages to the home page by creating a custom field called page with the value home.

Actions Bar

  1. Display

    Please check the box if you want to hide the actions bar below the header on the home page.

  2. Action

    Please enter the title of a link for the actions bar (like Download Trial).

  3. Subtitle

    Please enter the subtitle of the action link (like Get a free 30-day trial).

  4. Link

    Please select a page as link destination for the action link (e.g. download page).

  5. URL

    Optionally enter an URL (overwrites the link to the page selected above).

  6. Icon

    Please select an icon for the action link. You can choose between download, support, mail, user, note, alert, about, appointment, box, bulb, checked, disc, error, favorite, gear, info, internet, ipod, laboratory, preferences, refresh, search, software, user.

Theme License

ThemeShift themes are released under the GNU general public license. You may use your purchased theme on as many pages as you like for personal or commercial purposes. Unlimited access to the support forums is granted only to customers who buy a ThemeShift theme package from this website. Access for visitors and users of my free themes will be limited.

Refund Policy

Please keep in mind that ThemeShift themes are non-tangible and irrevocable digital goods. Theme purchases are generally not refundable. So before you buy, please ensure that the desired theme fits your needs. If in doubt post your pre-purchase questions to the support forums.

Warranty

ThemeShift themes are guaranteed to run on the latest stable version of WordPress. ThemeShift reserves the right to reject support requests for problems that occur after theme files have been modified or third party plugins have been installed.

ThemeShift themes are constantly updated to be compatible with the latest stable version of WordPress. Please ensure that you always use the most current version of our themes. Theme purchases include future theme upgrades!
