For most workout programs, the warm up is just that–low intensity exercises that help to get the muscles used to moving.
As I’m writing this, I’m almost grateful that I’m only thinking about the exercises rather than doing them.

Before I started this program I had been warned that Insanity’s Plyometric Circuit was intense and the warnings held true – this workout is no joke! Unlike P90X, where each week’s workouts are performed in the same order and on the same day of the week, Insanity kind of mixes things up and each week is different. As usual, we start with a warm-up which consists of about six high intensity moves performed quickly in a row and then leads into two more sets of the same six moves. After the short water break that concludes the warm-up, I am literally dripping with sweat.
Football Sprints (with feet wide, quickly alternate weight from left to right foot and follow Shaun’s instructions to turn right or left, move forward and backward, etc).
The part that is most difficult for me is the floor work because my shoulders start burning so much that I can’t hold the plank in order to do all of the final moves. Both programs have killer trainers, effective methodologies, and produce really amazing results.  Putting them together is just too much fun (and stupid effective)! Now that you know what you have to endure for Week 1 of the hybrid, I have provided the official Beachbody P90X Insanity Hybrid worksheets and schedule (click the schedules to see the full size images).  This along with the actual workout programs are all you need to do this hybrid program!  I recommend printing these out and using them as your hybrid schedule! I currently live in sunny San Diego California and work with people around the country and Internationally on their health and fitness goals.
We are at the tail end of week 2 and I have done Insanity Plyometric Circuit a total of three times now. Plyometric Circuit’s warm-up starts with a jog in place (all warm-ups start like this) then moves into Jumping Jacks, Heismans, Triple Heismans, Butt kicks, High knees, and finishes with Mummy Kicks. The power went out from a thunderstorm during my workout and I couldn’t remember all the moves! I'm a runner, triathlete, Ironman and fitness lover living at the beach in San Diego who made a big lifestyle change in 2011 with the help of P90X.
While i have more energy and prefer to workout in the morning, I’m glad my schedule pushed me to do my Sunday and Monday workouts this week in the evening. I wasn’t terrible, but I was not good etiher, so I welcome the return to my normal routine today.

Although sometimes I don’t like the repetition of the warm-up, but overall this is a butt-kicking workout that sculpts the entire body. I think it’s good that I did P90X prior to this series because I am much stronger at push-ups than before. I figured since I’m blogging my own experience anyway, and if helps someone decide to try to make the same change for the better, then I might as well earn a commission. The last workout in each set has an additional 1-2 minutes of moves that you haven’t performed before. Now, just a week later, the workouts still push me to the edge while they are happening but I recover more quickly.
