Course was kept interesting through full interaction, banter, real life experiences and excellent explanations. Well, OK, not just yet, as I’m sending out the notice of the meeting slightly earlier this month. Mainly because I’m going to be on The Dalesway for a week, but also because there are events to advertise as soon as possible. As I said in the Newsletter, the speakers will be John Grogan from Stronger in Europe, and Roger Tattersall from Grassroots Out.
Another reminder of something that appeared in the newsletter – but now with a picture to make it even more memorable! Planning for our Civil War battle re-creation and 17th century arts and crafts exhibition is still going strong. You might not know, but Jamie Hudson from Futurist Sound and Light, whose offices are in White Swan Yard, has taken over the lease of The White Swan itself, which is owned by Punch Taverns. After expecting you to walk up the Chevin in the cool and damp evening air last month, we’re not asking you to walk any further than about 100 metres this time! If you have any questions or if you would like to enquire about booking a course please do not hesitate to contact us. We were founded in 2001 and have developed successful long lasting relationships with prominent organisations. Since our inception in 1992 we have built a loyal customer base and continue to add to this list on a weekly basis.
We like to work closely with our clients to meet their immediate requirements and then to identify and provide solutions for their wider training needs. They all have years of hands-on experience in their chosen disciplines as well as relevant trainer qualifications and accreditation. If the debate is a success, we might organise more in the future, on other topics of high public interest. The debate will be chaired by Matt Hardin from Otley Pub Club and there will be no Party Political involvement or bias from anyone at the top table. In support of the Otley defibrillators campaign, Peter Jackson from the Otley Tavern has organised free first aid training on Saturday the 4th of June from 10am at Bridge Street Church hall. Its first beer festival takes place from 11:30 on Friday the 27th until the pub closes on Sunday the 29th. This information session will be hosted at Peak on Saturday August 15th at 11:30AM by Cesar Moreton. This approach has lead to our development of training programmes on behalf of major UK companies and organisations which have been implemented nationally.
All our trainers also work to and meet the standards laid down by Life Long Learning UK for teaching in a Further Education setting.  Our quality procedures and post-course appraisal system ensure that our training is current, relevant and effective.
The two speakers will first be given the opportunity to speak for up to 10 minutes each, without interruption, either from their opponent or from the floor followed by a right of reply. This is definitely not the last time you’ll see it mentioned in my emails, because we want as many people as possible to go down there with their families and enjoy the whole experience.

The theme will be real ales from West Yorkshire, and there is just one change from the details on the website. At 20:45 we’ll turn left and walk about 10 metres into The White Swan, so you can see for yourself the changes taking place. Our long association with many of our clients is testament to our ability to provide quality training when and where it is needed. And I still think there’ll be some of you who enjoy the spectacle so much, as well as the idea of dressing up and charging about with a big stick before going and sinking a few pints, that you might just want to join up to do it regularly!
That is that there will now be ‘only’ 24 different beers and ciders on tap over the weekend. Finally, at 21:30, we have to walk all the way across the road, past the maypole, and into The Manor House on Walkergate. The recruiting sergeant will be in Otley town centre on Saturday morning, and in Wharfemeadows Park for the whole weekend. There will still be a barbecue, and a marquee with live music in the yard until 9pm, and any further changes will be updated on the facebook page. If you happen to live on Manchester Square, you’ll hardly have to leave your front doorstep to join us this month! There is a sign-up sheet for this info session on the blackboard, as well as more information regarding our instructor, Cesar Moreton! There’ll be more details of the new weekly programme of events at the pub in our next newsletter.
Training will be given by Brett Booth, who is a qualified trainer and volunteer rapid responder, (as well as being the landlord of the Yew Tree Inn).
