These are a must-watch.
Hopper Hall Groundbreaking
Example content imageOn 21 October, a groundbreaking ceremony was held to signify the beginning of construction on Hopper Hall, named for RADM Grace Hopper, the first building at any service academy to be named for a woman and quite possibly the last major building to ever be constructed at the Academy. Here is a slideshow of the ceremony.
The Patriots and USNA
It’s not just ENS Joe Cardona ’15, USNR, that can claim a relationship with the NFL’s New England Patriots—turns out there’s a long blue-and-gold line connecting the Academy, starting with a Navy coach whose son is now the head coach of the Patriots. The author of this article, CAPT Matthew T. Provenche ’93, MD MC USNR, was the Patriots’ medical director and head team physician.

Wrice ’83's Uniform Hangs with Powell’s
When the new National Museum of African American History and Culture in DC called for donations, LtCol Jesse Wrice, Jr. ’83, USMC (Ret.), dusted off his evening dress jacket and sent it along. It’s now on display beside retired Gen. Colin Powell’s uniform.
Honoring the Families of Our Fallen Heroes
On 12 November we honored 20 families of alumni killed in action and operational losses, a tradition we recently started called Honor Our Fallen Heroes. They received an incredible welcome on the Navy Football field from our amazing Navy fans.

Plumb ’64 in the film “Freedom”
The film “Freedom,” inspired by the true story of former P.O.W. CAPT Charlie Plumb, Jr. ’64, USNR (Ret.), was nominated as a finalist in the My Hero Film Festival honoring films of outstanding merit that portray heroic values and actions in all walks of life. BZ to Col Art Athens ’78, USMCR (Ret.), of the Stockdale Center and director Patrick Finnegan who was commissioned by the Class of 1964 to create this film to inspire honor and leadership in midshipmen.
