#GoNavyThankEveryone: Week of Gratitude 2021
The U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation held its second annual Week of Gratitude 11-15 January. Alumni Association and Foundation staff expressed their gratitude to alumni, parents and friends who have shown their support for the Academy through emails, phone calls and a thank you video message. Even Bill the Goat got in a few words. The work we do for the Academy, the Brigade of Midshipmen and our alumni would not be possible without your help and contributions. Check out our Week of Gratitude website to learn why your fellow alumni, parents and volunteers support the Naval Academy. #GoNavyThankEveryone

Help Build the Future Alumni Center
Classes are fast stepping up to show their support for the future U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation Center, with commitments of $100,000, $250,000 and even more in the cases of the Classes of 1955, 1967, 1978 and 1985. Individuals have the opportunity to make their own mark on the Center with gifts of $2,500 per year (a President’s Circle-level gift) for five years to achieve Plankowner status and lifelong recognition in the Center. These individual gifts also count toward class giving and recognition in the Center. Additional information on these opportunities is available here.
Cyber Faculty Explore Recent Russian Cyber Attacks
More than 1,400 alumni, parents and friends logged on for our 6 January Called to Serve virtual speaker event, “Unclassified Briefing: Recent Russian Cyber Attacks on the U.S. Government,” which examined the recent cyber attacks on government agencies. The Naval Academy's Center for Cyber Security Studies and Cyber Science Department experts weighed in on the SolarWinds breach, how it happened and some of the strategic impacts it will have on U.S. national security. They explained the lessons learned and the connections with the midshipman cyber operations curriculum. A recording of the event is available here.
