I broke the mushrooms apart with my fingers into smallish pieces, but this was nearly 2 cups of dried mushrooms before they were broken apart.  Of course if you don't have that huge jar, just use less!

A craving for peanut butter led to this recipe for Slow Cooker Pork Sirloin Roast with Spicy Peanut Sauce. Then add the soy sauce, sweetener of your choice, Chili Garlic Paste, and chicken stock and process again until it's all blended. Heat the oil in a heavy frying pan and saute the pork until it's well-browned on both sides, about 2 minutes per side with high heat. When it's done, the sauce may look slightly separated, but you can whisk it for a minute and it will look smooth again.

Saute a generous amount of chopped onion in olive oil, then garlic, smoked paprika and other spices and cook 2-3 minutes more. Let the soup cook for 2-3 hours on high, until the lentils are very soft and starting to dissolve.

Another crockpot meal that's great when the weather is cold is this Louisiana-Style Red Beans and Rice.  I make this with barely-spicy Green Tabasco, so if you use red Tabasco, be sure to use a lot less! I usually leave my slow cooker on overnight, but that wouldn't be a good idea with a rice dish.
