Now I can make my own pandesal and make it more healthier by not adding margarine or shortening on it since they contain an excessive amount of arteficial fat, which is the transfat or the synonymous word for it is hydrogenated fat. A few days (a week I think) ago, we dined in a Filipino restaurant who happens to sell pandesal too. And so, after two unsuccessful  experiments on pandesal using the No-knead dough method, I decided to give up and do it the most tedious, laborious, and muscle-bulging method of making pandesal - that is mixing and kneading the pandesal using my two powerful hands.
If you have a dough mixer or a good mixer for dough use that for better gluten development. If you have great success with my Pandesal Recipe here, I will be so glad to hear from you. It's better to use a mixer so your hands won't get tired if you're using a fork since the dough is heavier this time.
This recipe is good for one breakfast and one snack so you can divide the dough in two, the half to be covered in cling wrap and placed in the fridge overnight.
When you are planning to proof your pandesal longer, you need to flatten more your log of dough since the dough opens a lot after hours of proofing. Now for the dough that you kept in the fridge, flatten it first and leave it for 30 minutes in the counter (See the picture below?) before kneading it and shaping it into Pandesal. The only bread crumbs I had on hand contained Romano cheese so I skipped this step and did not roll them in bread crumbs.
I will not rate the recipe as I made some modifications to it and did not follow it exactly but I do thank najwa.t for the excellent recipe! Compare and see the difference so you can decide how flat or wide your log is or how tall you cut your dough so that your pandesal will still have those signature pointy tips after baking.
And I paired this asparagus with grilled Chinese Pork Barbecue and rice to complete our meal. Ready mix brownies are easy to prepare ; you don's have to measure your dry ingredients, and box mixes often result in moist brownies. Note* Do not handle the rolls once they have risen as they will deflate -- learn from my mistake! To be honest, I was debating whether I will share this or not because this smoothie is utterly simple to be even be called a recipe. Since we are only three in our household, my Pandesal Recipe here is good for 1 breakfast and 1 snack.
