The mind is something that many of us understand as the seat of human cognitive power: our thinking, feeling, and perceiving. Awareness is a key term here, because the mind can be divided into two parts: the conscious and the subconscious. Simply defined, the conscious mind is everything that we are aware of; all thoughts, feelings and perceptions that we can evaluate rationally. The subconscious mind is like a vast space containing all the memories, feelings, thoughts, perceptions and desires that you have ever had-you just aren't aware of them anymore. When you allow the conscious and subconscious parts of your mind to work together, great things happen.
Your conscious mind is something you are very familiar with-it is responsible for all thoughts, feelings and perceptions that you are aware of.

But even though you are not aware of the contents of your subconscious mind, you are still influenced by them daily.
But the subconscious mind is more mysterious-and yet unlocking its mysteries can help you gain deeper insight into who you are and why you are the way you are.
Once your conscious mind is aware of the contents of your subconscious mind-something that can be achieved via hypnotherapy-you can then make intentional changes to your subconscious thoughts, beliefs and attitudes. Sometimes, your subconscious provides you with a positive reservoir of beliefs, attitudes and emotions to draw from. Making changes can lead to a variety of positive outcomes: you can quit smoking, lose weight, and even fight off anxiety and depression.
In fact, your mind is being used every second you are alive-but, you may not always aware of it.

But sometimes, unfortunately, your subconscious is filled with negative thoughts, beliefs and attitudes, very often because of early traumas or bad experiences. When you let the conscious and subconscious parts of your mind work together as a team, great things happen.
