Details

In November 2023, we published revised versions of the National Policy Statements. The 2011 versions of the National Policy Statements on this page remain in force until the revised NPS are designated in early 2024.

The National Policy Statements (NPSs) set out the government’s policy for delivery of major energy infrastructure.

The guidance has effect, in combination with the relevant technology-specific NPS, on the decisions by the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) on applications for energy developments that fall within the scope of the NPSs.
