The Tape Box
Every recording is stored in the tape box, an expandable drawer positioned at the right-hand side of the main recorder. To open or close the tape box, click the dark gray rectangular “handles” along the box edge.
At the bottom of the tape box is a search field; text entered here will perform a live full-text search, filtering out tapes that don't match the search criteria. To show all your tapes again, click the X button in the search field.
Tape box tips:
- The tape box is actually a live view of the
TapeDeck folder inside your Music folder; you can move m4a files into (and out of) this directory to add them to (or remove them from) TapeDeck.
- Command-drag any tape in the box to drag it to another application, such as the Finder or Mail. Dragging a tape to the trash this way is the same as choosing “Move Tape to Trash” from the File menu. Command-clicking a tape will reveal the tape in the Finder.
- If you would like to change the location of your tape library on your disk, you can set it in the Preferences under the Settings tab.
Search tips:
- If you would like to search for a particular color tag, use the color: operator in your search. So, to search for blue tapes that contain ‘Mac’ in the title, enter the search, ‘color:blue Mac’.
- If you would like to combine search terms together, use the ‘|’ character. To search for both blue and green tapes with the word ‘Apple’ in the title, enter the search, ‘color:blue color:green apple’
