May 4, 2011 Brittany Bailey 31 Comments I have a real problem throwing away perfectly good glass jars and bottles. After the paint has dried (several hours), gently remove the foam sticker with the X-acto knife.
If a little paint has dripped into your masked area, you might be able to scrape it off with the X-acto. I want to paint the INSIDE of some very old milk bottles and then put a cover on the bottle. Start by attaching one end of the baker’s twine to the surface you are going to cover using the Mod Podge. I felt incredibly motivated to do two – one rainbow and one in a color palette I like.

I began by choosing the larger jewels and gluing them randomly around the foot of the wine glass with my E600.
After I glued some of the larger jewels in place, I began to fill in with a few smaller ones. Once there was barely any clear glass visible I used my tooth pick to add in the small clear rhinestones between the spaces of the bigger jewels.

The painting step has the potential to get messed up, but that doesn’t mean the project has to be a failure. One of the stickers (jar shown on the right side below) didn’t adhere, and the paint bled underneath the sticker. They don’t have the same shiny luminous look, but they will still be beautiful none-the-less.
As a crafter and blogger I always cringe at attempting projects that seem a little too perfect. I found you through a photography round up but I had to pause and oooh and ahhh over these beauties.
When I got to the top, I clipped off the baker’s twine and gave all of it a good coat of Mod Podge.
I love giving homemade gifts, so I thought a bedazzled wine glass would be a classy way for my friend Bridie to celebrate.
I like to call E600 my crafting weapon…this stuff can be used for literally everything!

I tried to cover as much of the foot of the glass as possible…almost as if I were making a mosaic! Beginning Mod Podgers take note, because this is the perfect way to get started with the magic glue. Whether this gift is for a lady turning 21 or 51, I think it will be something she uses many times, paired with many bottles of wine and lots of great laughter. You could really use any glass of your choice…a martini glass would be fabulous, too.
To give a finished look on the glass, I used my tooth pick to run a line of glue around the base of the stem. Just be sure to inform the lovely lady receiving the glass to hand wash it so the rhinestones don’t fall off!
You can re-dress an old container (glass works, but you can probably use any container) by simply wrapping.
