UV Stable Crystal Clear Table Top System is a high performance two component Clear epoxy system designed for Table Tops, Bars, Wood finishes, See-Through Encapsulations, Art work, and other applications requiring a clear, strong, plastic coating specifically designed to resist Yellowing caused by the sun and other Ultra Violet light sources. I chose a number of the most common art materials in PURE WHITE to test the  non-yellow properties of this mix. I am not settling for something that is not perfect, but I really think that this is the best we can get!!  we will continue to improve, but i think artresin will move forward with this formula.
Easily applied in liquid form, ArtResin quicky cures to a rock hard state with the look of clean, glossy glass.
Here are some of the supplies you may want to consider having on hand for your resin sessions. Foam Brushes – easy to spread with, but much like paint brushes, these will have to be thrown out after one resin session.
Level - Epoxy Resin, like any liquid, will follow the path to the lowest point in the fight against gravity. Plastic Sheets (if you want to make a tent) - this can be very valuable and insure that you dont get dust on your art.
Oil based mediums MAY leave an oily surface on the top of the resin if the paint was not fully dry.
I need to work outside because of my small space, any tips tip for faster curing and working outside!!!!!! My two questions are 1) Being that the surface of my guitar is rather small (a foot square at a guess), how much resin will I need?
I have never tried this, but Resin is used for boats, so I do not think it is unusual to drill into the surface at all! If the material you are resining is oil based, you may want to let the oil dry longer so that it does not seep into the resin.
I watched a lot of your videos on youtube and I was wondering if you could help me with what i am trying to do! You will find that the resin will really stay clear and let you get the thickness that you want! Q: What is the coloured medium that you can pour ontop of wet resin to create a watercolour effect?
Q: isn’t there a high risk of fire or explosion using a blowtorch with the resin to hit rid of bubbles? Q: I am trying to photograph my art work and was wondering the epoxy resin finish will effect the photographs since its like glass. You may want to sand the surface to give the second layer something to hold onto, and clean it with window cleaner or alcohol to be perfect. The second coat will have to be thick to fill in the divets and make a smooth cover of the whole piece. I have also resined over paper… and have learned the hard way that you must have a white surface in behind.

Having ArtResin has been really great because of all the artists I have had the chance to chat with from all around the world. I was wondering what your thoughts are on reusing mixture cups and the pour cup you use for art resin. 1) Many drying oils, such as linseed, penetrate deep into the fibers of unprimed canvas causing the cotton to rot eventually.
PROProducts Blog Epoxy Finish: How to Smooth Out Common ProblemsAfter spending hours upon hours building a handle, wrapping guides, spinning a decorative wrap, and any other time consuming tasks associated with your rod build, the last step is to apply your epoxy finish.
To get a better understanding why your epoxy does what it does, or in a lot of cases, is doing what you don’t want it to do, you need to have a better understanding of the simple makeup of the chemical. Most rod building epoxies are two part epoxy resins consisting of one part resin and one part hardener. Pre Mixture – Pre mixture factors are anything which can happen during  the epoxy is measured, mixed and ready for application.
Application – Application factors include issues which can arise while applying the finish. This is where it all starts, if a mistake is made during this process, it is often blamed on one of the other categories. Tools: I recommend taking a spare piece of rod blank and experimenting with several application tools.
Environmental Factors: Rod finishes recommend a temperature range of 60 to 90 degrees fahrenheit(check the manufacturer for product specific ranges).
Finish is practically a magnet for dust or floating particles, so having a clean working space is important. Hopefully this breakdown will allow you to better prepare yourself for the common issues which arise during the epoxy portion of your next rod build!
The material has an easy to use 1 to 1 by volume mix ratio, wets out substrates well, maintains its integrity over sharp corners, it has excellent air release qualities, and a relatively fast set time for an epoxy coating which may be accelerated by mild heat to 160F.
This surface application enriches color, seal in and provides a protective barrier, is heat and water resistant and forms an easy to clean attractive finish. I have experimented with all mediums and i thought pouring coloured ink onto wet resin would work but when it dry’s i get a crater effect from the ink and nothing like a polished watercolour effect. I am curious, I have used resin before on paintings, but I have recently incorporated paper (pages from books, etc) into my art.
Does the next batch you mix and pour in previous cups affect the makeup of the resin at all?
When the two liquid parts are mixed together in a 1:1 ratio they create a clear hard product. We will break those down into three categories: Pre mixture, application, and post application. This can be eliminated by using a pair of syringes to ensure the same amount of resin and hardener is being added to the mixture.

When you aggressively mix epoxy, you will create bubbles within the mixture that later can cause issues. An epoxy mixer will turn your epoxy at an angle inside of a mixing cup using a stainless steel mixing rod.
Brushes are the most common tool, but there are hundreds of different bristle hardnesses, widths and lengths. Bubbles can either carry over from pre mixture, or be created by the air trapped in between the brush bristles.
An alcohol burner with denatured alcohol burns much cleaner than lighters and other butane fueled heat sources. While this material will do much better then competitors products for non yellowing we still do not recommend it for permanent outdoor applications.
There are only a few materials that you can peel off of resin including the backside of tape, plastic bags and other very smooth surfaces. If I should mask them off and try to get a clean edge when the resin starts to dry, or if I should just let it drip down the sides and also coat the sides of the guitar. More rod building questions are stemmed from epoxy application than any other of the necessary steps.
The resulting hard product is waterproof, UV resistant, and bonds well with thread wraps and graphites.
Not mixing the finish for the manufacturer’s recommended time can also can cause issues.
There are a few issues you may run into, but luckily, as long as pre mixture went okay, anything that arises during application can be fixed. The epoxy will set up regardless of these elements, but your new spinning rod can turn into a FLY-ROD if you are not careful! I have heard that sometimes applying resin to a piece with paper will make the paper opaque. Due to the light viscosity of epoxy, it is necessary to have the applied product spin during the cure time to prevent the finish from falling off. Both of these mistakes will lead to a finish which does not set-up or is tacky beyond the cure time. This will not only cause the bubbles to escape, but it was also enhance the finish’s ability to self-level.
