5 Second Fix is a pen containing liquid plastic resin that doesn’t harden until exposed to UV light, allowing you to fix almost anything in a matter of seconds. 5 Second Fix is a liquid plastic welding compound that becomes solid when exposed to UV light, which the company claims will allow you to fix, fill, repair, and seal virtually anything in 5 seconds or less, including plastic, metal, wood, glass, and more. Compared to other bonding agents, 5 Second Fix is claimed to allow you to position and reposition until you’re ready to make the bond permanent, which can help you avoid a sticky mess. Instead, the plastic resin contained in 5 Second Fix remains a liquid until exposed to UV light, at which point it quickly hardens, turns into a solid, and forms a strong bond between 2 materials. As such, it might be better to think of 5 Second Fix as a bonding agent, similar to glue, but without the possible mess and with some added capabilities. In the 5 Second Fix commercial, we see 5 Second Fix applied to a frayed steel cable, which is then used to pull a full size pickup truck into a trailer.
With this said, this means that you have plenty of liquid plastic pens from which to choose.
Among more than 100 HighYa reader reviews for these products, they held an average rating of 3 stars. Chopping to the point: Liquid plastic resin pens seem to be all the rage in DIY circles nowadays, and 5 Second Fix appears to be a new addition.
As such, although we almost always recommend purchasing these types of products locally, 5 Second Fix appears to be a solid option if you’re only interested in buying online. I bought this product on a whim at a local lumber store and didn't try till I moved my computer monitor. Also, I tried to fix a solar window flower I got my wife (the ones where the flowers swing back and forth), she said it can't be fixed but I hate to see her not happy and 15 minutes ago I repaired it with 5 Second FIX. I have repaired several other items around the house and it is much cheaper to fix than to replace all that I fixed.
If you purchase this product, you just threw your money out the window because it doesn't Bond or stick to anything.
I ordered this product after seeing the commercials and thinking that I had many things I could use this for.

Works great, but be aware of the fact that it is NOT glue, but liquid plastic which turns hard when exposed to UV light.
As such, it's perfect for fixing just about anything transparent or translucent, such as glass, plastics, various jewelry pieces, etc.
5 Second Fix is the new plastic repair epoxy that only cures when you shine a UV light on it!
For me, the ability to fix something with epoxy is a good thing, but I always hated how I had a very short time window before my epoxy set. On top of this, 5 Second Fix’s liquid plastic resin is claimed to dry clear, which can then be sanded and painted for an unnoticeable repair. On top of this, plastic resins can be used to form simple 3D objects (such as a key hook), which is something that traditional bonding agents can’t accomplish. In fact, if you take a look at each of these products, you’ll see that their designs are nearly identical to one another.

I was so excited to get it due to false marketing, especially about the rope that tows the truck.

Also, you can use it to build up a shape: for example, a nib had broken off a plastic hinge, and I could reform it by placing a dot of 5SF, hardening it, adding another dot on top, hardening it, and so on. A shoe, a ceramic dish, plastic 3-d glasses, a picture frame, and the worst was a ceramic angel garden ornament that was the center of my father's memorial garden.
If you put it between two opaque pieces and shine the UV light on it, only the very edges will turn hard and the center will not. It seemed to work, but when I went outside on day 3, the angel's wing was off and laying in the dirt. I was impressed with the fact that with the 5 Second Fix I could take my time positioning and repositioning the item I was fixing and the bonding material wouldn't dry until I applied the UV light.
