Somebody in the team has made a mistake. How do you draw their attention to it and resolve the problem?

When speaking to the person involved be VERY tactful. Always think carefully about what you're going to say referring to the mistake. Try praising the person for some other acheivment and then indirectly call the person's attention to the mistake so that they figure it out for themselves and save face. Always let them save face. Try not to make orders, use questions and encouragement, make the fault seem easy to correct. Make sure the person is happy about what you've asked them to do and praise the very slightest improvement.

As Dale Carnegie put it:

"Be hearty in your approbation and lavish in your praise."
