Here's something dumb that most of us will be able to appreciate. Its proxy censorship. It is just the STUPIDEST thing ever!
Its not that I am anti-censorship (well I am) but that it just DOESN'T work. I've seen 13 year olds get round on-purpose and by accident. Why? Well proxy censorship relies on someone actually typing in each site which users can't access. So some twisted soul has to go round looking for every site with links or actually containing undesirable material. This is, as I'm sure you know, an impossible task. Some proxies even censor the best search engines as they're good at finding sites which haven't been censored.
Not only does this silly little inconvenience slow things down but it also provides even more temptation to get around it. Overall its dumb and pointless, people should be able to decide for themselves what they do and don't want to see. Its dumb and that's why you're reading it in Dumb!
