For those of you who weren't with us for j-dom 2.0, here's a little refresher of what we do in this column. It's dedicated to the modern working world where teamwork is an absolutely essential skill. Currently we're going through the 16 fundamentals of Leadership and Teamwork. They weren't just pulled off the top of my head, they come from the experiences of a group who went through an intense 24 hour leadership course. Its the real McCoy, here on j-dom, so let's go for it! Fundamental No.5 Co-operation Absolutely, completely and utterly essential. Obviously so, some might say, but you'd be surprised. If you're leading a team make sure everybody has something to do, delegate tasks to each person. If you're a team member then make sure you're given something to do, if you're not then ask what you can do. Be enthusiastic in helping the team to achieve its objectives. Summary Get people involved. Next week we look at No.6, dedication. Send us your teamwork stories, tips and anecdotes. 'Til then! |
