I heard somewhere that the worst development technologically was the fax. Why?

Well it stalled a lot of the digital technologies for character recognition, it didn't seem necessary, slowing doing our advancements a good decade. It seemed logical at the time, it was so hard to recognise our writing and all the other stuff and send it quickly, especially with oriental texts.

But look at all the paper we've wasted! Anyway, e-mail is ten times more fun!
