I viewed this as useful because if you need a quick and easy thing to make for lunch you can make this.
There are a lot of recipes for chocolate chip cookies out there, and I’m going to go ahead and add another to the mix. No special ingredients or complicated techniques, you probably have everything to make these on hand.
Topping the cookie dough with additional chocolate chips before baking is the secret to making these chocolate chip cookies so pretty! Instead of browned butter, I used melted butter, one tablespoon less than the original recipe to account for the evaporation of the butter as it browns. Several years ago, I noticed that the take and bake cookie dough you can buy at the grocery store has additional chocolate chips on top.
Thanks for the recipe made these cookies for Christmas party and they wee gone in an instant! I’ve had a love affair with chocolate since my first taste as a little girl, but I never liked candied fruits. Simmer orange slices for about 30- 40 minutes, til the white inside the peel starts to appear slightly transparent. Brush this syrup over the oranges, then put in oven at 150 C for 30 – 40 minutes at low heat.
It makes a much chewier orange slice, which has been a hit with friends after lunch or dinner in the middle of winter.
Dip them partially in dark chocolate (or entirely for chocolate lovers!) for a lovely sweet treat after dinner. These candied orange slices freeze beautifully, which means you can simply take them out as needed whenever you might need a tart and sweet taste during the autumn and winter.

I love the smell of fresh gingerbread and my kids enjoy helping me prepare and roll out the dough, cut out the gingerbread men and watch them bake.  Of course, the best part is the last step when we get to decorate them. This sweet tea is the perfect balance of flavors, and a pinch of baking soda gives it an ultra smooth finish.
I absoluetly love that recipe, but my kids prefer a more traditional flavor profile, and sometimes so do I.
I also switched out the dark brown sugar for golden brown sugar because we like the milder taste of the light brown sugar. I thought this was really clever and started adding them to my cookies as well, that way the cookie has chocolate chips baked in and chocolate chips on top. Ugh … the jelly-like feel, the faded fake taste of anonymous fruits and, in later years, the waste of calories from all the sugar sprinkled over them.
As a middle aged fogey, I started to crave candied orange peels, lemon peels and candied orange slices. Along with my Paris excursions to study and discover the best chocolate opera cakes and macarons in Paris, winter means new detective trips to discover the tastiest candied oranges and orange peels.

I?ll show you easy ways to spend less time and money at the grocery store, less time in the kitchen and more time with your family.
One of my favorite things to do is sit in the backyard and watch the kids play while I sip on an icy glass of sweet tea. I took what I loved about the Cooks Illustrated recipe and adapted it a little to make the perfect chocolate chip cookies for our family. Especially in winter – maybe a signal from my body that I needed more sunshine and vitamins! I’ve tried them high and low, from Pierre Herme and Marcolini to single producers.  But whatever I tried, they were too sweet and had lost most of the tart flavor.
If you have a pic, you can email me or tag me on Instagram and I can help you troubleshoot. It still needs work because the finished product is a little sticky – but I don’t want to roll them in sugar. We always simmered the tea in stead of letting it just sit but I’m gonna give your way a try just to see if there is a difference. Every time I make them I’m pleased by the results, and I love how easy it is to change the texture of the finished product depending on how long you 1) cream the butter and sugar or 2) allow the butter to cool. If cookie dough is very soft, let stand for about 10 minutes and it will be easier to handle.
