The sneak preview yesterday was filled with excitement as every guests were treated to experience a real dining set up at The Halal Guys. With clockwork precision not devoid of friendly gestures, the hardworking food staff at The Halal Guys whipped up every food order as if they were equally excited to let the guests try the food they prepared.
Excited to try everything on the menu, I opted for the Gyro and Chicken Combo over Rice, New York Size (Php499 with drink). And the white sauce - one cannot really help but ask for an extra serving because it is just so good and so perfect combination for the meat. Of course, dining at The Halal Guys wouldn't be complete without their iconic white sauce and the hot sauce. I had a grand time finishing my Falafel Sandwich but I got my eyes on the Gyro and Chicken Sandwiches on my next visit. Everything we had was New York size because when eating something as delicious as these grubs, it is the only way to go, to be honest. Judging by their look, it goes to show that we were all happy and satisfied with our grubs. Aside from the gilded pillars, it's the amazing scent enveloping the air at the lobby that delights me whenever I visit Dusit Thani Manila. Once you enter the lobby and take a huge whiff of that floral scent {just so you know, I'm not gonna let this one go}, turn right.


The Seafood Station: Just like in other buffet places, you can ask them to cook your favorite seafood in the manner that pleases you - from chili garlic to sinigang. I only allowed myself to have a small portion of the other dishes just so I could overindulge in the biryanis, basmati, and the buttered chicken masala. The Pantry, as well as the rest of the food outlets at Dusit Thani Manila, is Halal certified.

My favorite sashimi and sweets were there, and pizza, which made the experience just perfect. And now that Japanese franchise Dohtonbori has opened in Manila, we’ve been grilling and eating a whole lot the past month!
You’ve probably already heard an earful about their bestselling Japanese Beef Curry Souffle, but make sure you’ve tried their desserts as well. Which made it the perfect place for chatty family reunions and rambunctious barkada eat ups during the holiday season. Which goes to show how badly everyone wants to get their hands on these Guy’s Gyro and Chicken Platters. But once you open your bamboo steamer basket to reveal these famous xiao long baos, you know they’re nothing short of artistic.
New York size, I tell you, is humongous it can be for sharing, or not if you got a big appetite. I am guessing there's going to be some long lines because this opening is very much anticipated. But of course, if you're gonna brave the traffic {it doesn't matter what day it is}, it'll take more than gold columns and a wonderful scent, right?
Both the skin and the meat are rightfully seasoned; just enough flavor to give way to the sauces. The doughnuts, churros, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and shot glass treats are really good, too!
Dusit Thani Manila is the first 5-star hotel in the Makati CBD to receive the Halal certification for 2016.
Right beside your bed is a cup of heartwarming jasmine tea to invigorate your senses with its energy boosting aroma. Once you get past the entrance of the hotel, you are greeted by a great hall that takes you a hundred years back. Executive Chef Konrad Walter has much to recommend such as the Japanese, Italian, and Filipino, particularly the Halal menu and desserts and pastries.
One might think it’s hot or spicy, but it actually tastes like regular creamy dark chocolate, plus the added kick of warmth on the throat. Of course, from my platter of Halal food, my favorites were the Shawarma, Beef Kebab, and creamy Janeer Alfrezy. The meat was flavorful and the side of gravy made it even more impossible to not lick the plate clean. The Valrhona Guanaja 70% Dark Chocolate Souffle, the Matcha Souffle Pancake, the Salted Egg Caramel Parfait, and the Manchego Parmesan Cheesecake mustn’t be missed! The holiday season seemed to have given everyone bigger appetites, hence the undying lines at their Megamall branch last month. Oh and FYI, their Hot Sauce will make you feel like you swallowed the sun, so proceed with caution when adding it to your food! The only station I saw at The Pantry where people hurriedly cluster to get a hunk was, yes, the Lechon Station. Then, you walk outside of your room toward the lush green landscape that lines the facade of the historic Manila Hotel. All of their pizzas are made from scratch, 100% fresh and baked in a traditional wood-fired oven. The soft texture melts like butter in the mouth, and it has a light flavor that is a cross between tofu and bread.
Waiters and waitresses were friendly and approachable and they know the menu like the back of their hands.
