Duane Morris & Selvam Announces Addition of Samuel R. Sharpe to Expand Litigation, Arbitration and White-Collar Criminal Defence Practices

SINGAPORE, August 4, 2014— Duane Morris & Selvam LLP (DM&S) is pleased to announce that Samuel R. Sharpe has joined the firm in Singapore as a Director in the Dispute Resolution department and head of the Corporate Crime and Investigations Practice Group in Asia. The addition of Sharpe bolsters the strong litigation and arbitration practice of the firm in Singapore and will strengthen the firm's ability to advise clients across the region facing allegations of criminal misconduct.

Sharpe is qualified to practice in England and Wales and Singapore and focuses his practice in the area of corporate crime investigation and compliance and commercial dispute resolution. He advises clients on UK Bribery Act compliance and investigations as well as Singapore anti-corruption legislation and leads a team advising on the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He has acted for a number of multinational companies in this regard, particularly with respect to pre-acquisition investigations and corruption allegations in the Southeast Asia region. Sharpe is an experienced practitioner in international arbitration and litigation in the courts of England and Wales. He has acted on a number of high-profile international arbitrations in Singapore for clients in the construction, energy, insurance and hospitality sectors. In addition, Sharpe has advised on a series of high profile pro bono projects including advising Oxfam International (among others) on the Arms Trade Treaty Negotiations at the United Nations and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Sharpe is a member of The Law Society of England and Wales, The Law Society of Singapore, The Singapore Academy of Law, The Insurance Law Association of Singapore and The Society of Construction Law.
