Ashley Henry Shook

Grassroots Lobbying Director

As Director of Grassroots Lobbying for the Pennsylvania Government Affairs team, Ashley draws upon her experiences in the governmental arena to develop, promote and execute grassroots strategies for clients at both the state and local level. Prior to joining GSP, a predecessor to DMGS, Ashley held the position of Deputy Chief of Staff to the Allegheny County Executive, where she focused her efforts on municipal relations and strategic communications. She most recently served as the Western Pennsylvania Finance Director for the Onorato for Governor campaign. Ashley was confirmed to sit on the Allegheny County Airport Authority Board in 2012.

Experience

Ashley’s experience includes the following:

Western PA Finance Director, Onorato for Governor, Pittsburgh, PA

• Interfaced with a donor portfolio consisting of more than 750 individuals and political action committees that represent numerous industries, professions and interests from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
• Served as a liaison and facilitator to numerous policy committees and constituencies, including the PA Orthopedic Society, Association of Pennsylvania Constructors, and Marcellus Shale Coalition, among others 

Deputy Chief of Staff, Office of the County Executive, Pittsburgh, PA

• Assisted the County Executive with legislative research and policy development
• Spearheaded and managed the County Executive's municipal tour program
• Served as Interim Director of Communications

Education

Ashley received a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She graduated summa cum laude from Robert Morris University where she received a BA in Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations.
