A new study, published on the Occupational and Environmental Medicine website, has found that women working frequent night shifts are more at risk of developing breast cancer.

The findings, taken from a survey group of 18,551 women in the Danish military, indicate that frequent night shift work increases the risk for breast cancer and suggests a higher risk with longer duration of intense night shifts.
Preferences and habits of the night workers were gauged by means of a structured questionnaire and concluded that shift workers tended to sunbathe more frequently than day workers.
This Woman Decided To Accept Her Body Just The Way It Is And The Internet Loves Her For It! Higher levels of sex hormones at the 'wrong' time may be blamed for increased cancer risk in night shift workers, says a new study.

The researchers recruited 75 night and 42 day workers, ages 22 to 64 years, in different working settings and measured their hormone levels in the urine samples.
But women who had worked night shifts at least three times a week for at least six years were more than twice as likely to have contracted the disease as those who had not.
