By default you get 5GB for free, but the iCloud plan prices are reasonably cheap if you require more storage. This is the internet as long as your point is made let those control freaks waste their time typing.
Use a period inside parentheses only if the enclosed material is meant to stand alone as a sentence. I think it’s pretty ridiculous that the bloody update took over an hour to download, install, configure, and reset both computer and phone several times. But the most annoying thing is Newsstand, which can’t be deleted, hidden, or grouped into a folder. It keeps saying my login is wrong even though I know it’s right and it works in Itunes. Now, if you can just tell me how to delete a couple of pictures I took that will not leave PhotoStream?
This is not guaranteed to work for everyone because it depends on the usage of Keychain in Mac OS X, which not everyone uses, but it should be the first thing to check if you wind up in such a situation either yourself, or when troubleshooting someone else’s missing encrypted backup password.
Now you can go back to iTunes and use that recovered password to use the encrypted backup through the normal restoring from a backup process.
If nothing related to the iOS backup shows up in Keychain Access, you’re kind of out of luck in terms of accessing the encrypted backups unless you can somehow guess their password.
Hey I tried this but when I searched iPhone backup on Keychain Access it didn’t find anything :( Is there another way to save my data? Enter your email below to get exclusive access to our best articles and tips before everybody else. You’ll run out of free iCloud space especially quickly if you have multiple iOS devices. Open the Settings app, tap iCloud, and tap Storage & Backup to view how much space you have left in your iCloud account. To use less space for backups, look at the apps in the list under Next Backup Size and disable apps you don’t think need to be backed up. If you have an old device you no longer use and it appears in this list, you can tap it and tap Delete Backup to delete the entire backup. Install another app like Google+, Dropbox, or Flickr that can automatically back up your photos and have the app start backing up your photos. You may also want to disable Camera Roll backups if you do this, as your photos are being backed up to a different service anyway.
Tap an app under Documents & Data on the Manage Storage screen to view the files taking up space. I ignored the omission in that related "No iCloud isn't backing them up" article, but this article is brand new.

Krasimir is an avid marketing aficionado and a tech-support specialist in charge of the English-speaking market. In the world of Windows dominance, Apple’s Mac OS X enjoys a healthy market share of 9.5% among desktop operating systems. The 256-bit XTS-AES key is the actual encryption key that is used by the system to encrypt and decrypt data. In order to recover these keys, one would need to dump the content of the computer’s RAM into a file. Similar to BitLocker, FileVault 2 employs Recovery Keys to enable users unlock their encrypted volumes if the disk is moved to a different device or if no user account with ‘unlock’ privileges is present in the system. While brute-forcing a 120-bit key seems easier than attempting to brute-force a 256-bit key, the security of a 120-bit key is still enough to make the attack unfeasible.
We are currently finalizing development of a tool for extracting and using FileVault 2 recovery keys to mount FileVault 2 volumes.

In a case the image contains several encrypted partitions, choose the one which you would like to mount (you may see more than one FileVault 2 volumes if several OS X installations are present). Elcomsoft Phone Breaker displays Apple ID that has the Recovery Key stored in its iCloud account.
Provide authentication credentials (Apple ID password or authentication token extracted from the user’s computer). Then you can use the “hdiutil” tool (OS X) or FTK Imager (Windows) to mount the partition and explore the data. If this is the case, each user must type their password before they will be able to unlock the disk. In order to unlock an encrypted volume, you will need to use the original plain-text password. With recent update, Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery gained the ability to attack plain-text passwords (in addition to user account passwords) protecting disk volumes encrypted with FileVault 2.
Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery uses GPU acceleration techniques making the recovery 20 to 50 times faster compared to a CPU alone. Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery can recover passwords for popular disk encryption containers.
Make an image of the hard drive (physical device) or an image of the encrypted partition and save it into a file. Once the password is discovered, you can use it to unlock the Mac that contains the encrypted volume.
After recovering the password to any user account with “Unlock” privileges, you can do the following to mount the encrypted container.
Your second method is to get a warrant IF one is stupid enough to store the recovery key in one’s iCloud account with Apple. It also includes things like Find My iPhone and Find My Mac, in addition to several web apps that let you get your Mail, Contacts, and Calendar while on the go, via any web browser. The next time you apply for a job, sure, go right ahead and use bad grammar and misspell words. By using sloppy language, you are indicating that you don’t care about how your information is presented. Clearly, iOS has major integration, and yet we can’t access it even if our system is a few months old?
I want to know if my desired account name is still available and want to claim it before someone else claimes it.
In most cases this must be done on the computer that the backups were made to, unless the user had enabled iCloud Keychain, which it would then be possible on any machine using the same Apple ID. The encryption is extremely secure (as it should be), and thus can’t be circumvented in any reasonable manner that is available to a human. Device backups, photos, documents, iCloud email, and other bits of data all share that space. For example, you might disable backups for apps like Pocket, Twitter, and Evernote because those apps automatically sync their data online anyway.
By default, iOS 7 uses both Photo Stream to sync the most 1000 recent photos between all your devices and also backs up your device’s Camera Roll, which contains any photos stored locally. It will back up your photos to a separate pool of storage — your Google Drive, Dropbox, or Flickr storage.
They count toward your iCloud storage, so you may want to delete any files you don’t care about.
If it’s not set up, you can visit the iCloud website, open the Mail app in your browser, and delete emails with the web interface.
Apple currently offers three paid plans — an additional 10 GB for $20 per year, 20 GB for $40 per year, or 50 GB for $100 per year. The following is a powerful set of tools which will help you back up iPhone contacts, SMS messages, music, calendars, notes, and more. The app-backup process proposed by CopyTrans Apps is simple and gives you full control over which apps and app data to back up.

He grew up in Bulgaria and on the island of Mauritius where he became passionate about windsurfing and photography. Not only will a user password allow accessing their Mac, but it will also allow decrypting FileVault 2 volumes that are otherwise securely encrypted with virtually unbreakable XTS-AES. Note that it is no longer possible to run a FireWire attack on locked or sleeping Macs due to Mac OS X security restrictions, so the RAM capturing tool must be executed on a running computer with FileVault 2 container unlocked and a user logged in.
If the user agrees, the recovery key gets stored in the iCloud account associated with the user’s Apple ID (which is required to use the service). This key is only useful if you can obtain it by searching the premises, downloading from the user’s iCloud account or requesting from Apple (if you have a warrant). The backup key can be extracted, processed and converted into a binary 256-bit XTS-AES key that can be used to decrypt the volume.
In order for other users to be able to unlock FileVault 2, one has to click Enable User and enter the user’s password while setting up encryption (or any time after).
If there is more than one user on the computer, you’ll have a much greater chance of recovering at least one of these passwords.
Passwords cannot be extracted from a Mac OS X computer; you can only extract password hashes.
You can choose between dictionary attacks with various mutations and GPU-accelerated brute force. In order to attack a FileVault 2 password with Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery, perform the following steps.
While creating a folder with 2 apps (not Newsstand), quickly grab the Newsstand app and drag it into the folder while it’s still creating.
I predominantly want it to sync all my mail and contacts between my devices but my mac seems to want me to set up an iCloud mail count (then I guess use the other mail accounts via that). You may disable Camera Roll backups if you’re using another method to back up your photos. This is a confusing system, which is why Apple has announced they’re simplifying things with a single iCloud Photo Library that contains all your photos in iOS 8. You’ll have a backup copy of your photos stored online, but you get to keep all that precious iCloud storage for other functions. Be careful when doing this, as you could delete important documents and other files you might want to keep.
This is in addition to your 5 GB of free space, so the plans actually give you 15, 25, and 55 GB of storage space. For anybody with a Windows PC (which is a lot of people) it's a no-brainer since the synced photos just show up on your PC without automatically eating your disk space.
This method requires additional steps to activate, and is typically used in organizations with centralized keychain management.
If new user accounts are added after FileVault 2 encryption is turned on, they are automatically assigned the correct access rights. This is especially true if the computer was used in a household with kids who tend to use much simpler passwords. In order to recover the original plain-text password, you will have to run an attack using a specialized tool such as Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery. Since attacking a password can be lengthy business, Elcomsoft Distributed Password Recovery can utilize multiple computers to simultaneously attack passwords.
The problem is, i read a lot about iTunes getting confused by having one ID for this and another for iCloud. When you disable backups for an app, the data will be deleted from your iCloud storage online and won’t be part of future backups.
Is it absolutely necessary to have an iCloud email to make the other email accounts sync please?
