IT Worx Cloud Storage is an instantly scalable and reliable file-level backup service for Windows and Linux cloud servers running in the cloud. If you have a large data set that you want to get into Cloud Storage, transfer your data to an external hard drive and mail it to IT Worx. Besides using the cloud to send and receive emails, you can also use the cloud to back up important files, store files, or share files.
Providers for cloud-based services are seemingly endless, so how do you know if you are finding the best cloud storage for your needs, and if it’s safe? The way the cloud works is that cloud-based service providers, Dropbox for example, store all of the files and data you save on servers: personal information, photos, you name it.
Because cloud computing is still a relatively new concept for consumers, they may feel overwhelmed and make poor choices.
Top cloud-based providers for personal storage and business storage vary widely because of clients’ varying needs for security and additional features. Backblaze is one of the few providers that offer true unlimited storage space and file size. Google Drive, formerly Google Docs, is a relatively new provider, offering 5GB of service, with apps for Android, PC, and Mac devices (something not all providers offer).
If the services are not free, or you need more data storage, most of these providers offer free trials of anywhere from 10 to 30 days so you can try out the features, but the most important thing to consider when ensuring the safety of the provider is to do your research. When choosing the type of backup strategy to setup for your office, are you asking the right questions?
The other question to consider: Say your current backup takes place at 11pm every night, and you come into the office the next morning then at 2pm the server crashes on you.
Now having this information in hand, you need to compare what your objectives are to what you have in place. Fortunately, today there are solutions that you can implement that will NOT break the bank and give you a 2 hour RTO and RPO.

They killed the iWork suite of applications just when it was starting to gain traction again the default Office suite. The interface has been overhauled in line with the iOS7 philosophy of clean lines and reduced clutter.
The answer to this is easy to understand but does very little for the people who use Pages everyday and rely on it. Apple’s stated ambition is to align iWork on the Mac and iOS devices and have them work and share information in the same way.
Well, as if to confirm the fact that this is a temporary state of affairs, Apple (very uncharacteristically) published a web page outlining the features that would be returning in the coming months. So in short, if you have already downloaded the new Pages on your Mac, don’t despair, the old one is still in your Applications folder so use that one instead.
Who is mac services?Mac Services offers macintosh support, repairs, installs and advice for families and businesses in the Canberra region and surrounding areas at the lowest cost possible.
To that end it has a large 5.5-inch 1080p screen, a standard version of Android and a 3,630 mAh battery that promises plenty of use between charges. It’s nicely weighted and the curved back has a textured rubbery finish, this means it’s thicker in the middle than at the edges but it feels really comfortable in your hand. If you don’t like having to remove loads of bloatware when you get a new phone the Moto X Play should definitely be on your list. The screen surround is thin, what Motorola calls ‘edge-to-edge’ which means the phone doesn’t feel unwieldy even with the large screen. That textured back panel clips in so you could swap it for a different colored one, it never feels firmly fitted though, there’s always a bit of give at the corners. The Play doesn’t have the AMOLED screen of some other Moto models, but its LCD display is sharp and delivers smooth video playback. Voice control is a bit tricky to set up, you have to speak your chosen wake up phrase three times for the phone to learn it and it’s a bit picky about you getting it exactly right each time.
Motorola says that the battery will give you up to two days between charges but obviously how long you actually get depends on how you use it. The 21 MP rear camera is a leap for a phone in this price range, most of which are around 12 MP or 13 MP so it really should be a star feature. Both cameras have a blue filter to cut down infra red light which gives images a more natural look. In practice although daylight photos are good, with accurate colors and sharp definition even for close-up shots, it’s less impressive in low light because it lacks image stabilization so you can get blurred shots if you’re not careful.

The Moto X Play costs ?279 for the 16 GB version (?22 a month on contract) or ?319 for the 32 GB. On a day-to-day level it’s easy to use thanks to some clever design, it has a clean, simple version of Android, and daylight camera results are excellent. The icing on the cake is that big battery which could see you going a couple of days between charges.
Windows and Linux cloud servers mount the storage volume via a secure private network and use common transfer protocols to move data to and from the Cloud Storage device. When IT Worx receives the external hard drive, the data will be manually transferred to your Cloud Storage allotment. From web-based email services, like Gmail or Hotmail, or file sharing services, like Dropbox, we all use the cloud daily to send, receive, and store data. The cloud replaces the need for any sort of external hard drive or physical device to back up and store your files, and you can access your files from any device, at any time, as long as you have internet connectivity. Because the files are stored on servers, rather than on a local hard drive, you are able to back up and access your data and files from multiple devices. The first step when choosing a safe provider that also fits your needs is to take in a few cloud-based safety considerations. For example, a free cloud-based service provider has to make a profit somehow, and sometimes that means your data could be stored or mined for marketing or advertising purposes. If you are looking for a cloud storage provider strictly for personal use, you probably won’t need many features and shouldn’t pay extra for something you’ll never use. There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles, but it does what it needs to (create, add, delete, edit, etc.) and it will work on any device no matter your operating system. It also happens to be one of the most basic and inexpensive with only one payment plan, which you can pay by the month ($5 per day), or year ($50 per year). Make a list of necessities and make sure your provider protects your files and tailors its services to your needs. Would you like to increase your visibility, hone your skills, and reach a very large and growing audience? Do you take into account Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO)? What happens to the data that took place from the time you got to the office in the morning to the time the server crashed, how easy is it for you to recreate it? Who do I call and how long will it take me to get my systems back up?" This situation is a very real possibility that may even have happened to you already. In other words, the user experience when using the iOS version should be the same as if you were using the Mac version or the web version. If you were considering upgrading (and I use that word ill-advisedly) I wouldn’t if I were you. The Moto X Style is focussed on how it looks, and this phone the Moto X Play is aimed at providing a good entertainment experience.
The design is ‘water repellent’ which means it’ll be fine if you get caught in the rain but don’t go dropping it in water. Other than that the phone feels solidly built with none of the creaky panels you sometimes get in cheaper mobiles.
It uses a motion sensor and when you pick it up the screen lights briefly showing the time and an unlock button so there’s no need to press the power button. Once you have it working though it’s pretty effective and doesn’t get triggered by day to day conversation.
The Play supports Motorola’s TurboPower fast charging system but, oddly, doesn’t come with a charger that can deliver it. You can access the camera quickly by swiping left from the lock screen or with a double wrist twist that works even from standby. The rear has an LED flash, the front doesn’t but it deploys a clever trick if you’re taking a selfie in low light, using the screen to provide illumination. Whilst there are some niggles, camera performance in low light and that slightly ill-fitting back panel being the most noticeable, it has a lot to recommend it. If the things it does well are the ones which matter to you then it should definitely be on your shopping list.
Storage allotments scale on-the-fly and you pay only for what you use, allowing you to keep costs under control and minimal. Cloud storage is also ideal for storing very large files, like photos or video, where space or safety is a concern. So the convenience factor can’t be beat, but we take for granted the fact that cloud-based storage providers are storing our files properly and safely – and with added convenience comes added risk. These considerations include checking out the company’s security standards, looking into whether data is encrypted before being uploaded or downloaded and when it’s stored in the cloud, and understanding your options should your data be hacked or lost.

If you choose to use one of the free providers, read the fine print to find out who holds your content, and if your data is encrypted when you download or upload a file. Instead, and if you have a budget for the purpose, use that money to pay for a provider tailored for personal use that offers protection and safety features that you will want and need. It isn’t the cheapest if you need a ton of space, but for the average consumer, it’s safe and reliable and relatively inexpensive for up to 1000GB of data storage.
Backblaze is also very safe, using military-grade encryption, and supports external drive backup. A favorite feature is the Google Drive Sync tools that put a folder on your computer that acts as a “dropbox.” There are multiple payment plans, and if you are on Gmail, an upgrade will earn you an extra free 25GB of space on your account too. While cloud-based computing and storage can be scary or overwhelming, saving files somewhere you can’t see or touch, it really has become in some ways the best option for backing up and sharing files and data. For instance, with regards to RTO, have you asked yourself the following: If I had a complete failure of my servers and access to data, how long can I be down without affecting my business?
The newest options for backup now include the capability to take a snapshot of the full hard drives and allow you to fully recover to dissimilar hardware in a very short time.
You have to be ready for whatever challenges that may come your way and not let yourself be vulnerable or that will cause your downfall.
This blog provides technology tips, tricks, news, case studies, and anything we come across in our day to day business that we think you might find helpful. I don’t mind the clean look but the document handling is now clumsy, the menus severely shortened and  functions removed. Once upon a dream you could set place holder text that allowed you to use your address book to insert names and addresses into a document. Great, but the net result of this is the whole application needs to be rewritten and, as a consequence, many features have been left out. If you have upgraded the iOS version thats cool, its not bad at all and is, in my opinion, an actual upgrade to the iOS version.
Unlike the Huawei which we looked at recently the Moto is able to pick up your voice even if there’s a bit of background noise. There’s an automatic high dynamic range (HDR) mode which adapts the camera’s settings to the conditions so you don’t have to spend time messing with the controls.
Video is 1080p and you get a slow motion feature, which is neat but does reduce the resolution to 540p. In fact, Dropbox was recently named the top providers in PC Advisor’s list of the “7 best cloud storage services” and reviewed as one of “The top 10 personal cloud-storage services” by ZDNet.
This provider is ideal for the average consumer because it’s easy to use, fast, and reliable. Google Drive encrypts data between your computer and the Google servers, and you retain 100% ownership of your files (per their service agreement).
You have to consider how long can you go in your day where you are not able to recreate the entries. If you need a shorter recovery time, there are other options that are available; however, the shorter the RTO and RPO, the higher the costs start to get. No longer can you TAB between cells in the table (a function by the way that has been around in EVERY application that has EVER made use of a table) you now have to use the ARROW key to move between the cells. Speakers are good too, there’s enough bass that you can feel the back panel vibrate slightly under your fingers. Also nice is that the volume switch has a smooth finish while the power button is grooved so you can distinguish them by touch.
The camera app doesn’t have a shutter button, you just tap anywhere on the screen to take a shot. The only complaint is that versioning is not unlimited so you can’t keep older files over 30 days. This is unless of course it is the last cell in the row in which case TAB works just fine!!?? And I only have 40 or so years left to live so I don’t really have the time to list them all. The Moto app has a useful Sleeping feature that puts the phone into silent mode between specified hours -- like when you’re asleep -- and will only interrupt for people on your priority contacts list. The very fact that you have to consult a manual or google to find out how to do something as simple as move between cells in a document is an automatic failure in my book.
