If you just got a new iPhone and you want to transfer all of your data including pictures music contacts and text messages to a new iPhone.
This is by far the easiest method and it doesnot require a PC or Mac, but it relies on having iCloud set up on the original device. When finished, your new iPhone will have everything from the old iPhone and you’re ready to go! If you are too eager to jump to your new iPhone before restoring it with your previous data, all you need to do is restore it to factory settings and then it will reboot back into the initial setup screen, letting you follow the two guides outlined above.
This process will transfer your saved messages, email accounts, photos, notes, and other personal settings to your new iPhone.
If you’ve enabled two-step verification for your Apple ID, and have setup your old iPhone as the primary device for 2-step verification for your Apple ID then it is advisable to setup another device as the trusted device so you can get past the Apple ID verification while setting up your new iPhone. After the backup is complete, check the Last Backup time (should show current time) to ensure that your backup was successful.
You will also need to enter your password for your Apple ID, email, and other accounts, and voicemail again.
It is advisable to keep your iPhone connected to Wi-Fi and plugged into a power source until the data from iCloud is downloaded to your device. Let us know how it goes and feel free to drop me a line in the comments if you’ve any questions.

I know quite a few iPhone users that upgrade their smartphone once every few years, often coinciding with the two-year contract they locked into with AT&T or other carriers.
Step 1: Complete the initial steps in iOS Setup Assistant for language, country and so forth.
Step 4: The new iPhone will begin restoring all data, such as apps, contacts, music and so forth.
If you followed the steps above, you should have successfully transferred your data from the old iPhone to your new iPhone. I always wondered if restoring a backup would transfer unneeded information like a Windows restore would do. I’m having a bit of trouble understanding your comment but I am genuinely interested. Yeah I understand what you’re saying, sadly I have no backup from a non jailbroken state. There’s no risk in restoring from a jailbroken backup, just may not get full speed performance. One question, might be dumb but I’ve always wanted to do a fresh install but carry over all my messages only.
If you have ever moved files from one phone to another you know that in most cases you lose some of you contacts.
Even I had to spend some time trying to figure out some way to transfer my contacts to another phone.

The simplest way to backup your contacts involves iTunes but to use this option you need computer.
It shouldn’t take more than few seconds up to few minutes depending on how much information is on your iPhone. Another option to backup your iPhone’s contacts involves iCloud, it is Apple’s effort in cloud computing that was introduced in the fall of 2011. This method will backup only selected data and not the entire phone, so it is recommended to use iTunes backup feature one in a while. WhatsApp is one of the most used instant messaging client through various platforms, like iOS, Android, Windows Phone and others used to replace SMS and MMS messaging services. This article shows you how to transfer WhatsApp chat history between old and new devices on same platform.
Remember, in order to restore your chat history on new phone, you will need to use WhatsApp account with the same telephone number. Now if you have old and new Android phone with SD card slot, you can use SD card to transport WhatsApp chats. If it is on SD card, switch off the old phone, remove SD card from it and pop SD card to new phone.
If you have WhatsApp folder stored on phone internal memory, you need to transport it to same internal memory location on new phone. If you have SD card slot on both phones, you can copy WhatsApp folder from internal memory to SD card with a file management tool.
To transfer your chat history from your old Windows Phone to the new one you need to have phones with SD card slot. To transfer your backup file from your old phone onto a SD card or any other storage (Cloud Storage for example), copy it with File Manager installed on old BB phone. Once you have transferred your backup, you can install WhatsApp on your new BlackBerry 10 smartphone and click Restore when prompted to restore your message history. If you don’t have iCloud set up or you have a slower internet connection, jump to the iTunes method instead. If you don’t have iCloud or your internet connection is slower, the iTunes method is also quite easy. You should see the name of your old iPhone, along with the date and time of the latest backup. But it is good practice to backup your old device to iCloud one last time before migrating so nothing is missed out. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup assistant by selecting your language and country, and choose whether to enable Location Services. After the data has been restored, you can turn on your older iPhone on and erase all the content all the content and settings.
For some reason, a lot of these people seem to think that transferring all of their content over to the new iPhone is a daunting task.
This is only possible through the iOS Setup Assistant, which is only available during the initial set up.

Any data on the new iPhone will be erased, so make sure you properly created a backup following the steps above. If you are sure that your data has been backed up, you are now safe to erase everything on your old iPhone. In other words, isn’t it cleaner to do a fresh-new install and re-add everything instead of restoring a backup? Since tweaks have unlimited access to the entire file system, it is very likely that their irrelevant files might go into backups. You probably wouldn’t even notice the difference if you did a clean restore with this situation.
Are you saying that if I restore a ‘jailbroken’ backup over a fresly installed iOS 8, the iPhone will not be as responsive? Even if you do a backup for your contacts and then move them to your new phone there is always some errors in the process and you lose some contacts without even noticing it. Now you can use this backup when restoring your iPhone or when you want to setup a new iPhone using information from the old one. This operation seems to be difficult, however if you follow our instructions, you can solve the problem in few easy steps. You should keep your new iPhone connected to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup (such as music, videos, apps, and so on). You should also connect the device to iTunes to sync data not contained in the backup (such as music, videos, apps, and so on). If you have over 5 GB of music, photos, apps and other data to backup, you will want to use iTunes backup. If you have already played with your new iPhone and set it up, you will have to erase everything on it to bring it back to factory settings. When I switch to stock iOS, I restore clean, or from a backup that isn’t from a jailbroken state. Some phones have a specific contact format and transferring them to a different phone is close to impossible. Please note that it can be a time-consuming process and depends  on the amount of data contained in the backup and on the speed of your Internet connection.
